I really enjoyed the river enchanted duology! I don’t think it’s considered YA, but there is no spice! A little bit of romance in there and it deals a lot with elemental type “gods” if you will. There’s a little bit of mystery as to them trying to figure out what is causing a certain issue they’re having in their lands while also dealing with their enemy across their border. Beautiful writing as well. I enjoyed this one more than divine rivals, which I think is an unpopular opinion.

A River Enchanted is an amazing book! So is A Fire Endless. I wouldn't call it cozy, but it does have beautiful writing, great atmospere, terrific characters, and a plot that guides it all. It is so balanced and beautiful. Those two books were my absolute favorites of 2024. It is adult but it is by no means spicy. I believe this duology is Rebecca Ross's best work. Also fellow January birthday here! Buying books around your birthday is 100% acceptable! I'm so excited to read the ones I got. Love the way you do these videos! I don't have it in me to pick a tbr for every month, but its so fun to watch. I only make seasonal tbrs.

Highly recommend The River Enchanted duology. Very well written and I’d consider it low to medium fantasy - def not intimidating. Enjoyed the audiobook narrators Scottish accent. Interested in your opinion of The God of the Woods book this month!

I definitely recommend you read The River enchanted by Rebecca Ross I really enjoyed it unique magic system, Scottish isle setting ,mature adult characters and enjoyed the side characters Torin &Sidra
