Alan Tudyk pouring beer on his bee stings will never stop being funny 🤣🤣🤣 Him getting hurt constantly is one of the comedic highlights of T&DvsE.

@@TheGrimmCommoner Oh I DEFINITELY didn't forget that part! Tucker is the best buddy a good old boy could ask for. Even when he's jealous or angry at Dale, he never even makes it to the end of the scene before he forgives him. The two of them clearly have a time-tested friendship.

Both of those actors are massively underrated. Alan Tudyk is currently in a show called Resident Alien, he plays an alien and it's hilarious. I remember being introduced to Tyler Labine (the chonkers one) watching him on a CW show called Reaper where his best friend is forced into a contract with the devil and they have a demon of the week type thing they have to beat. This is one of those movies that I lucked out on, when I bought the DVD on Amazon, before youtube had trailers of eveything. I loved it. Also, the writer/director is Eli Craig he is the son of the great actress Sally Field. He only wanted to do a few films, 2 to be exact, and just stop. That's why there is no sequel. He did write one, but he has publicly said "it's just not good enough, and it's best for the first to only exist".

I suggest some other great horror-comedies with heart that don't get enough recognition; "The Final Girls" (2015) and "Anna and the Apocalypse" (2017). Though the latter is a Christmas horror-comedy, so it's best saved for the holiday season. Both worth it, though.

For similar horror comedies someone else has mentioned Final Girls, but I'd also recommend Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, The Babysitter, The Babysitter: Killer Queen and Cooties. They all have their own unique take on the genre but are a lot of fun. Lastly I'd recommend The Guest, although not a comedy it does give a different take on the 'slasher' format and is really cool.

The Blu-ray has an extra that is a specially edited version just from the perspective of the college kids called "Tucker and Dale Are Evil." It shows how bad everything looks from the kids' perspective. I think they used a little bit of extra footage to fill in some of the gaps where dialog explaining Tucker and Dale's side would have normally been.

Yes a fun movie. All homages are in place, The Blair Witch Project found footage look in the beginning, Dale's chainsaw pose after hitting the hornets nest from Leatherface's spastic end pose from Texas Chainsaw Massacre to Tucker armoring up, like Ash, to do battle with Evil Brad. There was a film I used to recommend to my Horror film loving friends called 'Monster Man' (2003), it's sorta like this crossed with Jeepers Creepers, about 2 guys road tripping while being menaced by a monster in a monster truck. It musta flown way under radar because even my most hardcore horror friend that knows almost every obscure horror had never heard of it, so I showed him that and he showed me 'Dead Heat' (1988) which is also a fun comedy horror. Thanks for reacting to this, it is indeed a fun movie that gets by on word of mouth.

Because when this movie came out, nobody gave a crap about it but now I’m glad that it’s starting to gain a little bit of a cult following. This is the type of movie that I want to see more of. I want to see more original ideas like this. Instead of rehashing shit from the past. Whoever was behind the making of this movie, they all seem like a crew of very talented people. And the writer for this film definitely needs to get more gigs. Because he definitely seems like he knows how to write a good story, good characters. Not only that, but this movie also has a lot of things to say as well. And it’s true, Chad, your half hillbilly. That line still cracks me up.

This film is such a love letter to horror films. It takes every trope and flips it. It is very near a perfect film in my opinion, very cleverly written, great performances, atmospheric music, and great costumes and sets for the tone they were setting. One of my favourite. Never fails to make me laugh and feel so sympathetic to Tucker and Dale with everything they suffered through. I would actually say that Tucker and Dale have way more charm and personality than most "final girls" they are parodying.
