According to Trey Parker and Matt Stone it was apparently excruciatingly difficult making this movie. A simple shot of a puppet turning and walking through a door would take them a dozen takes because of how hard they were to control. I think they said making this movie was the most miserable they'd ever been but it was definitely worth it because the final product is incredible.

I absolutely love the detail and Care they put in the movie. When F.A.G. is talking to the summit of world leaders, you can see the king of Belgium in the front. I am Belgian and that puppet is spot on! Looks exactly like the man. (His son is now king, but hé reigned when the movie came out)

One of my favorite tidbits that Parker and Stone have said in interviews was how the initial screenings went with the executive producers of the film who wanted to see how the hundreds of millions of dollars had gone. With the opening scene of the cheap looking French marionette before it pans out and opens up with the broader scene of Paris, one of the producers jumped up out of his seat and yelled "They f***ed us!"

It seems like the "original cut" had many more crazy scenes between Gary and Lisa. Trey and Matt only put in to have something to cut out to get a lower rating. Brilliant! The songs are so funny and great. I recommend watching some behind the scenes for this movie.

I loved this reaction vid. Excellent editing and no flat spots. Nice work!

Fun Fact: Trey & Matt originally wanted to make this movie a shot for shot remake of Armageddon, because they say every movie Michael Bay makes is a comedy to them 😂

"There's so much!" "It's, like, spraying!" Easily the funniest vomit scene ever (Family Guy ipecac is 2nd place). It just keeps going, and when Gary starts sputtering and shaking I can't stop laughing 🤣🤣🤣

To my great shame, I didn't see this when it came out because I thought a puppet movie seemed stupid even though I was a big South Park fan. That to this day the Matt Damon portrayal is so accurate never ceases to amaze me. Put a mustache on the puppet and I'd think I was watching Oppenheimer. I do worry now that baby Schmitt's first word will be "durka durka durka". 🤭
