Idk much about being part of movies and payment but even Chandler admitted he was wrong to think in this manner. It wasn't as if Joey was busy with so many movies or other acting roles and this movie would have given him an important role to showcase his talents. Could've been his big break. You have to believe in your best friend's dream and you can also be realistic at the same time. Chandler was just being pessimistic if you ask me.

@@miavika1074 I mean yea Chandler is really a good friend and no wonder why they're the best friends because of so many reasons. My point was, in this scene Chandler just wasn't believing in a possibility that this could have been a big break for Joey. Yes realistically it may not sound very promising, even Joey knows that, it's obvious but Joey is still wanting to believe there's a possibility of this becoming a big break for him. Chandler should have tried to see that. There's not much downside to it anyway other than wasting time and money on travelling and so on. Sometimes you just got to take the chances.

So the irony of this to me is that Leonardo Dicaprio essentially made the same decision with Inception, taking a pay cut off the top but sharing in overall profits of the movie, turned out pretty good I'd say. Joey was right, he could've been a millionaire if the movie became a hit.

1. Men are very competitive about their work , house , cars , money. 2. Joey still feels like a failure around Chandler , who is ahead of Joey, financially . (And is college educated) 3. So, Chandler said the worst thing he could possibly have said . When Joey is all excited about his new opportunity, Chandler knocks it down. I would have kicked Chandler out at the next rest area. Kicking someone out on a highway ? very dangerous . Could easily be grabbed and robbed. I believe they both apologize later. (Poor Joey-- his movie role gets cancelled in Vegas )
