Funfact, for years, this was the most viewed debut MV by a male Kpop group. Yes they are still together, they were one of the youngest groups to debut at the time with 4 of the 5 members being 16-17 years old. Nu'est journey is pretty incredible. They had a solid debut and were a very promising group from the start but due to bad decisions and mismanagements on their company's part (they shipped them off to promote in Japan/China for over a year not long after debut), they lost traction and eventually became unknown. Long Story short, they eventually went on a show to compete as trainees and that helped them gain attention to how amazing each member was and they essentially saved themselves from disbandment. They literally went from rock bottom and clawed their way to the top. They're doing pretty good now but are still very underrated internationally.

Like Blue Oyster Cult, They are under-rated but damn near indestructible :D I've been a non-stop fan of theirs since this debut video, all the way thru here in 2021 and they never stopped putting out Albums, Eps & MVs. As you guessed, "Face" is an anti-bullying anthem, and it set a record for most-viewed KPop debut that wasn't surpassed for three years. The English subs on this version weren't even close to the Korean lyrics in places (I can send you a better translation on request), but it did capture the general feel. I recommend you view their follow-up MV "Action" next. It's about the seductive & manipulative nature of the celebrity life & show business, and hits just as hard as "Face". After that, just poke thru their 9 years worth of MVs and pick a title that sounds good to you. I guarantee that every song they ever did was worth a listen. As far as endless versatility and variation of style goes, NU'EST is to Kpop what Alice Cooper is to rock. Over the years I've heard them hit an amazing number of genres: Synth-Rock (Face, Action & others), Funk Rock (Their song "Beautiful Ghost" reminds me of US Funk-Rockers Wild Cherry), Industrial (Judgement & Big Deal), American-Style Bounce-Pop (Cherry & Beautiful Solo), R&B (Help Me & I'm in Trouble), Latin Rhythm (Deja Vu), Ballads (Hello) and even a Jazz piano number by member Aron. This song is still so awesome, in a time when school bullying was so bad in Korea and no one dared to talk about it, but Nu'est did. Face is the debut song of the group Nu'est, it was released in March 2012. Face deals with the issue of school abuse, or the so-called bullying, which is not only hitting but also includes verbal abuse (when they say cruel things to you), social rejection (they separate you from the group or do not speak to you) and even cyberbullying (they send you ugly messages or photos). Nu’est with the song wanted to make it clear that being abusive does not mean being the best.
