It's #TBT and for #ThrowbackThursday this week we're traveling back more than a decade to December 7th, 2013 through the lens of longtime Museum volunteer George Lawrence! Before THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride there was the Colorado Railroad Museum's annual "Santa Claus Special" lead by Denver & Rio Grande Western Steam Locomotive No. 346! George, who has been documenting Museum operations with his cameras for over fifty years, even captured Santa and Museum mascot Spike trading wish lists!

I got to see 346 in 1967 just two weeks before I went to Air Force basic training. The locomotive was lettered for the Golden City and San Juan and I believe they even sold GC&SJ HO decals in the gift shop. Also got to meet R. W. Richardson.

The C-19#346 is fantastic and very nice pictures of the work in the museum. I wish all employees of the museum. Merry Christmas and many greetings from Germany
