Most practical work and play 79 I have seen yet. Following you from day one (with 70). I can see a big named KZbinr in the west going back to the basic now. Cannot go wrong with basic but practical. Don’t need 50k for canopy and electrical setup like everyone else.

First of all, what a legend following along from that long ago, thanks mate. I firmly believe relatively basic but practical is the only way to go. I can appreciate wild builds and what not, but they just aren't for me. I remember All 4 Adventure going through one of their canopy set ups, 50 grand! I couldn't believe it, it's insane. But obviously they do very remote offgrid exploring so I understand in a way.

Great Video update on the Canopy. When you factor in the shipping cost to get it to the outback, it's a good price. Set-up is ideal for a work touring vehicle.

Yeah mate I reckon its not too bad at all. And an ideal set up for me

I think you’ve done well with the canopy. I’ve had a few on different vehicles and they have tend to fall apart. Good stuff.

I also rate the TC canopies and have a 1200 , if you fit solar panels to the top this also is a good way to shade and reduce heat whilst assisting the battery recharge the fridge. Go the 79's
@OutbackOffroadNT4 ай бұрын
That's the go mate, yeah I may potentially put solar up top, but for now I don't need to.

Looks like it's holding up well. Like you I like to support Aussie made stuff as much as I can, but sometimes it's just not possible cost wise. I see you're getting fancier with your intro visuals/logo. 😁 Onya mate. 👍

Hi mate, thinking of doing the same set up on my 79 dual cab . With the side sides did you cut them yourself or did a shop fit it all? Just noticed it has the ends with the black edge on tray where you shortened the tray sides . Can you buy that or need to get it all done by Toyota etc
@OutbackOffroadNT2 ай бұрын
G'day mate, I did it all myself and have "build" episodes of almost everything I've done. Cheers
@deceptikhon4 ай бұрын
For budget builds, IMO TC are the at the higher end. They're built solid and for the price I dont think you could go past TC. Other cheaper brands offer much much less in terms of build quality and materials, I have a 700mm wide TC on my 79, picked it up 2nd hand for $500. It's last me a few years until I can save for a up market one.

Yeah mate I agree, I really like this canopy and would recommend it. You got a rippa deal man that's awesome 👌

Hi mate, can I ask a question?. How you rate XTM drawer fridge. Next week BCF got the special for $499. Thinking about 2nd fridge for my troopy. Love your work looking forward to the next episode
@OutbackOffroadNT4 ай бұрын
Well I've only been running it for roughly 4 months, but so far I'm honestly happy with it, I'll do a review soon. I feel like the seal could be better though. I did add an additional foam seal. For the money, so far it's good.

@@OutbackOffroadNT thanks mate. Much appreciated. For the 2nd fridge for $499 thinking to buy. I am planning to build my interior during the summer. Every inch of storage is important. Legend.

I hate the loss of vision with a canopy. Thinking of getting a rear mounted camera always on, any suggestions?
@OutbackOffroadNT4 ай бұрын
Yeah fair call mate, I actually like it, keeps the cab cooler and just feels nicer inside, keeps the cab darker, feels cosy 😂 maybe you could run a reverse camera set up?

@@OutbackOffroadNT I don't have family so probs just gonna remove the back seat of my DC and boom, instant canopy at no weight cost. My fridge, dog, electronics will be accessible from cabin with good air-conditioning and security. Bugger the canopy, not for me I don't think.
