TCA Fall York 2023....Best Train Show ever!?

Hello everyone, My apologies for being a little late to the party but hey better late then never as they say!
This years Fall meet definitely was one for the books for sure! Definitely was a great time to catch up with great friends and checkout some absolutely amazing layouts! Huge thanks are in order to my friends ‪@ChrissTrainsandThings‬

Nice haul! That commodore Vanderbilt you bought at the show was one of my first ever Hudson locomotives that my grandmother got me many years ago for Christmas. It really brings back those memories every time I run it or when I watch other people’s videos.🚂

@@MattyCtrains I didn’t officially regained the commador vanderbilt until 2019 ironically. I guess faith lead up too the reunion with the engine that started it all for me too become a full on collector

love that commodore vanderbilt I got a model of that too and I have it hauling 6 20th century limited heavyweight coaches in the TM books & video century of lionel trains part 2, they had it paired with the 1995 Lionel C&O 490 with its 6 matching C&O heavyweight coaches (a set that I just recently completed yesterday) the commodore vanderbilt was on the inside track, the 490 was on the outside track both going in opposite directions.

I have seen the yellow and silver passenger cars when I was out and about somewhere a few months ago. I have never been to a york train show yet at all.

The EP3 has always been a great MTH model. The East Wind is also a unique and beautiful train that can be hauled by a number of different cool engines.

Couldn't agree more! The EP3 is a beautifully detailed model one of my favorites and yes the train was pulled by several locomotives between the PRR, New Haven and the Boston and Maine! Couple of Northern class locomotives pulled it. Definitely stay tuned for a upcoming video on the set😉👍

When People Go To Train shows they Buy what They Can They Do their Homework They Will Come Home With Some Good stuff we Try to Hit as Many Trainshows as Possible when Goin To Train shows Go till Closing.

Nice additions to the layout. 18:02 Fun Fact, Santa Fe did not call them Hudson's, They were an extension of the 3400 class Pacifics.

@@UncleSalty-nz5uk I've grown a bigger love for the west coast over the last couple of years and I fully thank/blame my friend Johnny LOL! Mostly trying to collect the really obscure but cool locomotives very few have when it comes to out west!

Yeah, his Southern Pacific collection is awesome. Don't feel bad, I'm mainly SP and Santa Fe, but there is a brass Niagara and a couple scale GG-1s lurking on my layout!

Kick ass hall brother, if there is a type of steam locomotive or locomotives I see that I like, no mater the brand, I will buy it depending on the condition of it. I will run a mixed Mach of different railroads together, it dose not bug me at all

Thank you! I always snag engines that I specifically look for when at shows. Depending on the price and sometimes I find other sellers having the same engine available so I always wait to pull the trigger to see if I can get a better deal.

In the beginning of the video where you make your introduction I noticed a Central Jersey steam locomotive on the second wooden shelf down. What manufacturer makes that one?

Good eye! That is a custom run MTH Premier whistle steam Mikado from Pat's trains. Only 25 were made, I think he actually has one or 2 left based off a news letter I saw a month or so ago. Great engine!

They share alot of share alot of electronics from Lionel so most of the internals are relatively available depending on the part of course. Brass is sturdy but very delicate at the same time.

Attendance down from 23K to 8K means all revenue pays rent with no money allotted for promotion does not bode well for the hobby.

Yes you are not wrong, It has been disappointing to see it dwindling over the last couple years. But hopefully that's changing with what I've been hearing in the grapevine
