The Future of Libraries

Wondering ..re. preserving both the buildings ,roofs and contents of our precious libraries in direct relation to the reality of having to factor in more extremes of weather ..how up to date are the automatic sprinkler and smoke alarm systems are and are they more easily triggered during extremely stormy weather? I heard a program on NPR American radio in October 2023 about protecting heirlooms and items that had been damaged by faulty sprinkler systems that (I may have this wrong but hopefully you will get the gist) did not switch off when they should have. Thank you for this interesting discussion. Libraries are the womb of civilization imo.Nothing can beat holding a book in your hands ...opening the doors into another world.☘️
