The choral section starting at 3:00 is the Russian National Anthem as it was in 1880, Bozhe Tsarya Khrani (God Save the Tsar), written in the 1830s. It is therefore anachronistic for the time. Of course, the reason Tchaikovsky didn't want to use the 1812-era national anthem is: the tune is identical to God Save the King! (Words were Russian, "God save the Tsar"). A ton of countries used it, too. From Wikipedia: During the 19th century, it was used officially in Sweden,[better source needed] and in Iceland. It was also in official usage for brief periods in Imperial Russia, in Greece and in the Kingdom of Hawaii. In Germany, it was used by the kingdoms of Prussia, Hanover, Saxony and Bavaria, and was adopted as anthem of the German Empire ("Heil dir im Siegerkranz") after unification in 1871. It remains as the national anthem of Liechtenstein, and was used by Switzerland until 1961. So I don't blame Pyotr for going with the modern tune!

this is art but the editing in roblox horror zombie game guts and black powder is a masterpiece i'm not sure what the map is called but you start underground and when you come out of the ground there is a a huge horde coming after you and at the half of the horde the music starts playing but the music sounds more intense and beautiful some type of vibe and the the the most famous part comes with the boat is there trying to make you escape the area and i'm not sure this the name of the og song but the guts and blackpowder song name is cannons and bells and its basically the slower version of this

Funfact: no one who lived before 1880 listen to this masterpiece. 16 cannon salutes for the poor souls. Is there any other song with cannons? Funfact 2: millions of songs were created but just one song with cannons included. Funfact 3: I played an amiga game when I was young and one scene was in a circus with a living human cannonball and you had to adjust the canon so the living cannonball flew into the sky and landed on a target, otherwise the cannonball died. During this level overture1812 played as background music.

Beethoven's "Wellingtons Sieg" was also scored for cannons, and that came before this.

I truly hope that this is used in the upcoming movie, "Napoleon" starring Joaquin Phoenix. I am using this in the finale for S2 of my wasteland europe series.

This piece is a must include for that movie, Napoleon is the one if not the main reason why this classic piece existed in the first place

This man was such an outstanding composer. He gave us such emotion filled compositions and then he gave us the 1812. And he hated the God dam thing!!! Imagine if he had composed with his heart in it. I just love this piece. It evoques much more then patriotism or nationalism. It goes way beyond that. It stirs up feelings of hope and strength in the face of adversity. It gives us the feeling that an actual batle of emotions is going on within us and our stringth is resolved once that finale hits the spot and Thcaikovsky writes the hym at full throatle. He even scored the piece with actual canons for God's sake. What a master

Compossed by a Russian and viewed as Napoleons theme of conquest This came out perfect 👏👏👏

Who thinks it's Napoleon's theme of conquest? It has literally Russian Imperial anthem within it. March of the Slavs.
