Manfred is less frequently performed in concert. This is due to its length, unfamiliarity, and its requirement for a large orchestra, including obbligato organ. It is also considered to be a virtuoso work and difficult to play well.

Shame about the cuts, but ehm.... why does he tack the coda of the first movement at the end of the fourth? It takes away a lot of the anguish that is so central in the finale. I've heard Temirkanov doing this too, but I didn't know Svetlanov preceded him in this. The only reason why I can imagine one should do this is for effect, and I'd imagined Svetlanov to know better. Shame.

Also Alexander Lazerev and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic did this cut version in a live concert on the evening of the Herold of Free enterprise boat disaster, but he took over at short notice from Temirkanov which in all probability was the version already prepared, as subsequently Lazarus performed it as Tchaikovsky wrote it. Even so on this particular occasion it seemed curiously appropriate.
