its timeless , the most phenomenal work of Tchaikovsky

After a painful night, many, many nights, I rose this morning and listened again to the mightily gifted composer from that great country of Russia. Thank you God for such wondrous help you leave us in this crazy, sinful, hard world. For a time I was not aware of the 24/7 pain and heartache, despite what the doctors strive to find & help me with. May this have such effect upon you, others.

At 80 years, full of pain, the mystery , for me, of why so long, et, then as I sit here listening to the great Tchaikovsky...Romeo & Juliet, the pain, mental strain subsides . Well, I do know why all things happen in the one true main sense, from Christ the Almighty. I am saying helps come from Another and I am so grateful. In this hard, cruel existence, we are given this music, that when a small boy raised in poverty, all else, I one day, very young somewhere heard this music, the other greats and I am often held up by them today. What we hear now is amazingly gifted composers, as it were, striving to ever so faintly give us some imagination of what is incomprehensible now of the angelic and eternal sound to come one day. Our small human minds could not enter such that will be, it too much for us in our human frame. Meanwhile, let's cling to this beautiful help our souls, our very minds lap up and never tire of.

The most ecstatic piece ever composed and the theme is not surprising: the eternal love of Romeo an Julia, which Shakespeare so brilliantly expressed by prose and Thchaikovsky by music... This is Divine!

Tchaikovsky is the greatest of them because of his astounding versatility. Symphonies, concertos, opera, choral, chamber, stand alone masterworks like Capriccio Italien, one of the first great song writers (None But the Lonely Heart) and, of course, ballet.

Perfect tempo and expression. Of course Tchaikovsky's is the music of passion - anger and the tears of love.

In my own opinion, I think Tchaikovsky's Waltz from Eugene Onegin, his 6th Symphony and Korsakov's Scheherazade (not to mention some Ravel's works) may compete with it, however it's doubtlessly in the top 10

I played this piece 20 years ago and since then I'm in love with it. From the very start you know that there will be no happy ending for Romeo and Julia and the last three minutes are one of the most beautiful endings I've ever heard. But honestly I don't get the last few bars. In my opinion the very last ending ruins the beautifully sad atmosphere.
@RiceStranger2 жыл бұрын
In the play's end, Capulet and Montague make a truce with each other, so that's some kind of happy ending. I interpret, however, this piece's ending as if Romeo and Juliet's souls meet each other in the afterlife. Still, it's really beautiful and sublime. It made me cry.

a fellow writing the notes on a cd of p.i.t.'s works, talked of his "lovely melodys." then in parenteses, he asked: did Tchaikovsky ever write a melody that was not beautiful." if so, it was rare. he also informed of the composer's comment that Mozart was the Christ of music, leaving no doubt where he stood on that fellow's works.
