This concerto was performed live on CBS Television by John Sebastian in the late 1950s. I was a brilliant performance. I remember very well watching it and Sebastian's superb technique.

John Sebatsian, a terrific classical harmonica virtuoso in the US, whose name exceeded Larry Adler in Europe in the 1950s, is unfortunately seldom mentioned and much neglected in the harmonica world. This piece was dedicated to him by Alexander Teherpnin,(1898-1977) a Russian composer and pianist who spent the rest of his life in the US. It is very interesting piece for the harmonica and the orchestra. Many thanks for uploading this. Anthony Lau (Canada)

I've managed to find two reviews and an album sampler for a contemporary performance of this composition seeing as all I have is to idolise this one this! The latest recording is available widely (if you know where to look!)

this rendering is NOT appreciated for the public because they DO NOT have sensitivity for instrumental music, less for classical. Nowadays lyrics and rhythm are only appreciated by them. We live in a decadent epoch
