I was at cat's cradle in Durham NC with my friend Bennie from Valiant Thor..they had me shoot a little video of the band...I had on some blue slacks I washed in the washer but were dry clean only...it makes them relax and a little tighter. I think I had on my lakai skate shoes but...may have had on my Stacy Adams gator skins. A khaki winter coat that had a fur collar. I think..that or my brown collegiate suede with knit shoulders and arms...the make up played and it was awesome! My old girlfriend gave me a copy of the red faces lp...it was great...also a single of glass candy metal gods and night nurses. Very very sick..so much better than the later versions....so this was the first time I saw them...after they played I went to find Bennie and Herbie talking to Ian and Michelle and Alex were standing at the sound mixing area...they all seemed so tall! I wanted to like freak out...but Bennie is a real good friend of mine and we seriously make all the funniest jokes...so he was taking to Ian and I knew he was gonna be serious because Bennie really puts alot into his guitar and drumming and everything. He's just on..so I'm like..my brains are oozing out of the side of my head..and Ian turns to me...and goes.."what'd you think? How did we sound?" I was flooded..I looked around to think...and I looked at Michelle and Alex and I was like..damn they're so tall are these people giants!? She is seriously super beautiful and Alex is as well it was surprising. I gathered myself quickly and turned to Ian and said..."like hot sweet syrup!" He reflected upon this and kind of drew his lips into a purse and went hmm...and Bennie was like..."goddamnit come on Lance don't do ANYTHING WE DO ANY OTHER TIME AT THIS MOMENT!" HAHHAH! Then Bennie kind of picked up the Convo and I went on quasi-listening but still in my head...I was like..."dang...how are they so beautiful...and tall?" I was kind of transfixed ...then Bennie and Ian were saying something and started to make a motion to prevail to some other destiny. I was impressed. Thier live was as good as thier record. Ian was a wow. And the rest obviously was pow. It was neat...it was fun. I like to dance and jam. I'm just a bad person though. In real life. Support nondiscriminatory not for profit legalization of euthanasia for all citizens regardless of race or mental health status or political affiliations. We all should have the right to choose when we exit this stage. We didn't ask to be here. We should be able to choose to not. The reason is irrelevant. The choice is more important than life itself. Thanks for listening. To someone besides me. Now if I could just get the rest of society to shut up... hmmm...

Found out about this band in 2017. Saw them at Desert Daze. One of the best performances I've ever attended. Felt like I was in church. Lead singer Ian Svenonious is like a preacher on acid, a white James Brown, a real hipster who makes you feel square just listening to him...Watching him perform was enough to make me feel lame. Dude can dance and control a crowd Now Im hooked Cant believe they got by me all these years. The only thing better than being with them all along is discovering them so late in the game and discovering their entire catalog. So cool.

Yeah they’re heavy hitters. Been onto them for a good minute through a close friend of mine. Brings back memories from an era of misspent youth. Gotta appreciate those sharp geometrical love lyrics and that slick jazz fusion tying it all together. Good stuff.

Hey, Ian once bought me jager & oj’s when he was dj’ing Dub Narcotic in Raleigh. Surprisingly somewhat down to earth. Dude had massive swagger, dance moves…and bo. 🤫

No he didn't. The lead singer died like seven decades ago! You do know this was in like 1956-7 right? Filmed in a air force quanset hut on a decommissioned piece of land somewhere in Arkansas? Or at least that where the money went. He doesn't drink coffee either. He was allergic to coffee. Didn't you know that? Look it up on line...his medical records are available. Since he died he's gotten alot better too. He gave up coffee and his teeth are whiter than ever. From all the dirt grinding his bones nice and white. I guess it's hard to see through high school though. Anyways...yep...oh...sorry...that henry...he's a liar. You know how rich liberals are.

One of my bands played with Ian's band Scene Creamers (hahaha) in the early 2000s. When he arrived at the venue he walked over to every member and shook our hand, weirdly and sweetly saying, "hey, how are you? I'm Ian.. Nice to meet you." He exuded an otherness that was palpable, but seemed really kind. Wish I'd talked to him more.
