What causes guitars that have that deep well I'm not for sure the right words if it's dwell or what it is but it was on a I believe I played a Chad Atkins model gretsch and it was just a sound that I've never been able to replicate, I have not a very good guitar player I just played for myself I was using I think it was a fender super twin amp, that was way back in the seventies maybe I would love to recreate that sound one more time while I'm still able to play, excellent job that you are doing I'm glad I found your videos,

It was the humor in the "do you want to help me shape the neck" bit that made me *need* to comment. I'm so glad I found this channel, it's awesome. I've had my heart set on making guitars for a while, and while I love coming up with designs and wiring schemes, I've always seen the woodworking aspect as just something that has to be done, not something I really look forward to; but your channel has definitely changed that. Your videos have been a tremendous help for letting me know where to even start with tools (with so many options and different approaches to building can get overwhelming very easily) and it's also been very motivating. I'm very hopeful that I'll be able to start building instruments this summer, and you've helped me to overcome a lot of my toughest obstacles so far. Also, I want to share a small tip that I learned from a luthier I had the opportunity to make a guitar with once: He taught me that when you're making the neck of the guitar wait until you've attached the neck and bridge, adjust the truss rod as needed, and _then_ install the frets; this way you shouldn't need to do much, if any, touch up work on the frets for the final set-up (I've only tried this once, but he has many decades of experience and used to work at Martin, so I trust him). I'm not sure if you could still use a fret press, he only hammers his in, but it seems like it saves a lot of time in the long run and I've never seen anyone else do it.

I can tell you really like wood when I see your final productions. Very little finish on the guitars, just the bare wood plus some oiling to protect them. It gives them a very nice look, one that you don't see often in music stores. Awesome work 👍

I'm really into your finishes for the guitar body in pretty much every project! It's just wood with maybe some dye and a simple finish.
