Ive just bought the TCL 30+ for $360 AUD. I hope it gets me by for next few years, I listen to podcasts on the Jabra Bluetooth and occasionally photography on the phone

ik I have a cheap cell phone (TCL 30 xe 5g) and it has an ok speaker( one speaker) the display is big and the performance is amazing for the price of 200$ (0$ on a t-mobile contract) honestly I may get a TCL tablet instead of an iPad

TCL continues to be a great recommendation phone for relatives and their more comfortable mid range phones are probably going to be my "weekender" phones next time I see one online

For a long time, I've been satisfied with an LG K8v smartphone. Now, I'm considering a replacement and the TCL 30v and the Samsung A53 are the two that I'm currently comparing. For me, battery life is a consideration (I'm an Uber Driver). Cameras have become better, over the years, but that also means they consume memory in the phone more quickly, too (picture file sizes are larger to accomodate higher resolution photos). So, camera quality isn't my highest priority. A phone that is user-friendly, can run my apps comfortably, and is affordable, does attract my attention. I'm still doing my research and due diligence. We'll see how it goes.

I was Super impressed with the TCL T-Mobile REVVL 5G. I still have not (to my knowledge) seen another phone with 5G and OIS ≤$400. It was a mid-year 2020 budget 5G phone (when budget 5G meant $399-$500, lol), but surprisingly had nice creature comfort features, like a 48mp main camera with OIS, HDR display, stereo speakers, tap to pay NFC, a big battery, and the fastest chip available just outside the 800 series Snapdragons. It runs barely modified stock Android, never skips a beat, and often feels snapper than my Galaxy Z Fold3. It has an odd pressure sensitive fingerprint scanner that you have to firmly press for more consistent unlocking, but is otherwise an absolutely viable daily driver. It even got the Android 11 update and has a February security patch! 😊

I bought a tcl 4x on ebay for $53 that snapdragon 480 is no joke!!! Definitely not giving it enough credit. It's literally 3x faster than the sd450, about twice as fast as sd665 and close to sd732g and way faster than all those crappy media teks that come in this price Using it for my TracFone service and using LG phones for hotspot on more intense applications, but the sd480 is almost as fast as snapdragon 835 which is still a pretty quick soc and flagship 4 years ago. Sd480 is a game changer for free phones. It runs Apex legends at 40fps on hd graphics

Kind of a same display in my Nokia 6.2 it's a IPS LCD panel but feels like OLED screen. I guess the Nokia's own pureview display technology and pixelworks visual processor is the reason.🤔

Every time you try to type the Google INPUT tab at bottom of right screen forces a pop-up bubble, which then prompts you to choose google keyboard or Google voice. This is so FRUSTRATING! Is there a way to remove this tab???

I'm beginning to realize though, TCL has very good hardware but their software support is poor. I purchased the TCL 20 pro 5G last year and it's a great looking phone and it feels good in the hand it still hasn't received Android 12. Yet these budget phones that they're launching are launching with Android 12 right now. Kind of infuriating

Yeah, I think it's still fair to shop hardware vs software. I mean, I was a diehard LG fan, and we KNOW that wasn't because of the software on phones like the V20. If you want tons of hardware features, and the lowest price, we have to know it won't come with longer software support. That cost has to be paid upfront. It's why a Pixel 5a is as expensive as it is for the hardware on tap. A comparably specced Poco will be $150 cheaper, but we both know which will get longer software support.

Entirely true, I think that there's definitely merit to security patches to a point. However much of a device's security is also down to how an individual uses their phone and individual application developers. Hardware for the price, the TCL 20 Pro 5G is easily worth the 499. Has a screen higher quality albeit 60hz than some cheaper OLED panels. The build quality is phenomenal.

I didn't check specifically, but that should be an android feature not a feature of a particular phone.

Gotten a Samsung galaxy A02s with the same processor. Gotten it for free but the 2GB of ram is just too limiting for me, PoGo crashes constantly. Since i Gotten it for free, I'm just gonna use it as an iPod touch alternative. It's fine for watching KZbin and listening to Spotify. I rambled on but comment was supposed to be about the Soc, which I liked in it, just sips on battery 🔋

The A02s has a SD 450. I have one as a beater phone and it is good on battery life, but it is SLOW. Samsung probably used the cheapest storage chip they could find.

I bought a TCL 5G at Walmart. I saw the price 130.00 dollar and I bought I purchase the phone. What I didn't realize is the phone is more. So now I owe 194.00 to pay the phone off and pay aug bill to get the phone shut off. I was told they would unlock the phone in aug. I really just wanted to get a good. I had a moto straight talk but that wasn't that good.

'Dead Cells' is a POORLY optimized game if it runs slowly on something that's powerful like the snapdragon 480. I mean dead cells is basically a Hi-Def version of the age old CLAW and that thing will run on a potato.
