My TCL series 6 does not have that center stand. It has the V legs on each end. We now have 2 of these & they are great!

Then you have the R646 version then. The newest 2022 model the “RS55” has this stand. Most places still sell the older model. Still both amazing TVs with a couple differences

I agree with you about TCL being the best bang for the buck TV. I personally have 4 TCL TVs and I like all of them very much. I'm still amazed with my first miniled R635. I also have the R625 the R617 and the P607. All 4 TVs are working very well with all of the most recent ROKU update 11.5.

Man if u dont turn that PS5 over and put it on the stand. And move it out of that cubbybor you'll just recycle heat when play more demanding games. Games like Ratchet, HFW Returnal, Demon's Souls get that exhaust heat a lil toasty. U might wanna consider moving it or taking the back panel off of the cubby

My main issue with this TV is the lack of ATSC 3.0, something the Hisense U8H offers. As an antenna user, I am actually interested in NextGen TV. I know you will be able to plug in an external tuner for that, but it's better to have it built-in. Hopefully, TCL and all the other manufacturers who are holding out rectify this next year. By the way, did TCL and Hisense just render Vizio irrelevant? We don't hear much from them these days.

only issue with this version 6 series is I've read from other users is that using the mini-LED for brightness taxes the power supply and it makes awful coil whine... Supposedly you can set brightness to mid and that "fixes" the issue by making the display use only the regular LED's but the display end up rather dim...

Last night I had a nightmare that my 65VT30 died, so if it does, I'm gonna go for the TCL. I bought one years ago, and when I was researching found out that TCL was making Samsung displays. Not sure if that still the case, but this looks like a winner. Thanks for the info.

In the side-by-side examples shown, the Hisense look much better imo. It was brighter, colors popped more and the image looked sharper. The TCL was dimmer, way too warm/yellow & had a softer look which he described as "refined" & "cinematic." LOL. These reviewers just say anything.

What are the free TV channels that come with this TV? How many channels? I was going to go with the 5 series, but I found out the 6 series has voice command on remote and better for gaming. Mine died in 6 months! The repair guys said it was COMMON and the TV is junked, can't be repaired. Luckily I bought the Asurion insurance and got a refund. TCL TVs do not last, check the complaints on the BBB site or ROKU community boards.

Probably the HiSense U8H. It’s the only other TV i can think off that’s within the 6-Series price range for Mini-LEDs. Can’t really compare TCL with Samsung, Sony & LG. They’re much more superior in their own respective categories. Edit: i personally don’t care for Mini-LEDs as much, If you ask me, the TCL is the better choice then the HiSense though.

@@SaithusX Our Hisense performed so badly in dark scenes, of which there are MANY these days, that it was unwatchable. We tried adjusting every setting, looked up advice, reread RTINGS recommendations, etc, but just wound up getting an OLED to replace it. lol

Definitely get an extended warranty. Ours died after about a year. Needed new motherboard. Luckily we had a local certified repair center that did the job for a reasonable price. Has worked great since.

Do you guys EVER follow up or check the complaints? My 5 month old TCL 65inch R635 TV died in 6 mos. It has a MAJOR BACKLIGHT PROBLEM, check the BBB or ROKU discussion boards. This TV IS JUNK. Luckily I got a refund as the extended warranty was the only thing that worked. TCL is NOTORIOUS for having backlights that go out and CAN'T BE REPAIRED. TOTAL JUNK! These reviews are misleading probably not your fault since you are reviewing NEW TVs, but a TV shouldn't DIE in 6months. Check the complaints on these TCL TVs.

@@SFBenjaminK I heard that while the U8H is brighter and has more vivid colours, the end result is that the image looks less natural, which can be distracting when you're watching your shows, like a picture on instagram that pumped up the editing just a little too much. That said, I think we're getting into the nitty gritty comparing and constrasting two great options for affordable, high quality screens. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I have a solution. Buy an Amazon Fire Stick 4k max. It's 35 dollars, goes into HDMI 1, and then you have a whole new operating system and remote. It works MUCH better, and you can easily audio search with the amazon remote. Works very well, and very cheap.
