13 odd years ago while i was at uni i sold TVs and LG was the brand that people were unsure about (back when panasonic plazmas ruled the market) they were just like what TCL is now and have had a great rise creating a loyal fan of the brand in me. But i just bought the C855 a last week when i walked in the shop to buy a C4 and im very happy with the decision.

@ had a black Friday sale where i got it half price and couldn’t justify spending 4k (AUD) on the c4 when the tcl was 1600. If they were both full price id probably have bought the lg at the time but that would have been a mistake. Still very happy with the decision.

@@ljm3356 As part of boxing day, I was at The Good Guys and tossing up between the 55 inch C4 at $1930 and the 65 inch C855 at $1630. One of the hardest decisions ever. Bedroom use, 2.7m away, I settled on the C4 as we don't need the TV to be bright, massive, nor too loud. Still, I do often wonder about the 300 bucks I could have saved going TCL, and the better speaker system, better max brightness and the lack of concern for burn in over time

OLED is nice, but I hate the burn-in. Which eventually always happens. You cant go wrong with the TCL. Save money by PS5 with it.

@@sai4541 i have to disagree with they all end in burn in cause i have had my LG C1 since Since 2021 and no burn in to date , LG has Put In Features That Prevent It from happening such as Screen savers ,etc i use my c1 mostly for gaming and pc is burn in still possible yes but with the newer oleds with the new technology its becoming rare

In my opinion the game changer is if u tuned the colors and lower the sharpness and try to make the contrast more balanced. Also if u max out the brightness the colors may not look good. I did manage to get cinematic colors like the white is white and the black is black on a led tv. Also u should try to edit sound settings and thank u very much.

After watching a few reviews of this im shocked with the TCL it's much better than I originally thought. If the tv's were the same price I'd definitely buy the lg but there's a several hundred pounds difference so my conclusion is the TCL is probably the better buy for the money. I'd really like to see a review where they collaborate both for optimal picture quality

I was Sony TVs before for there science of colours, but i bought this TCL TV in 75" for the price. And I'm surpised by the colours fidelity in film mode (very good) and surpised too by the brightness of the sceen, so bright that i reduced it on 10% and it's still bright enough during the day to my eyes. To me it's e very good TV But they have to do something with the remote for next year'Tvs : in a dark room, they need backlight...

I have a 2016 LG OLED55C6V 3D curved tv, it is still as good now as when purchased it.. There is no screen burn at all, the white is perfect white and colours are so sharp.. Same as you, I wouldn't buy another LED..

Turn "Reduce blue light - on" - LG c4. The picture will become warm, and "white" color will become normal (not blue like out of box)

At 4k6ohz, the C855 showed slightly better input lag than the C4, that was unexpected. Motion clarity was still better on the OLED though.

Own a c4 and trust me gang it buries the tcl in every way but brightness also c4 is woled and whites are brilliant. And comment on mini led black level control being better ( for Pete’s sake the c4 is oled and has infinite contrast)

​@@caffeinefix2751He is just spreading FUDD like all these OLED fanboys do. I have both TVs a C4 and a QM7. I'll tell you from personal experience looking at both of them side by side for a weeks. The difference is not that Drastic. The biggest difference is the Black Levels. The QM7 does have noticeable Blooming when watch near black content but outside of that. The Colors on the TCL look fantastic. Since it gets way brighter than the OLED it looks more Vibrant to your eyes. Alot of the other stuff you wont really notice while you are watching your shows, movies. Even playing video games on the QM7 was great. OLED is nice but, It's not worlds better than the TCL and that's coming from someone who actually bought and tried out both not just some ldlot talking on the internet about something he's never tried before.

I saw a TCL C805 side by side with an oled and had to cancel my order.. I couldn't decide on a budget qled so I got the cheapest hisense tv which is the e6n and I'm really liking it despite the viewing angles.

I have the C805 since its release September 2023. I have no issues and the picture quality goes on par with Samsung S90C OLED, if dialled right.

Gr8 review Chigz, thanks. Unfortunately, that MT9653 (Pentonic 700) is even lower than SONY's 2020 Flagship TVs with MT5895/5893 chips. So, the X1 processor's 4K UpScaling skills, detailed reproduction and lightning-fast reaction time is NOT available here in C855 ! But it'll do the usual TV Processing... I'm waiting for the Pentonic 1000 (MT5897 or equivalent) on TCL Flagship TVs, maybe on 2025 models ? 🤔

TCL is better, tbh LG oleds always have trouble with some colours overated by paid reviewing channels and whats realy bad is the fact they have a fixed power cable 🙄

Why does the lg has the double image effect in that scen started at 17:39 , every time I pause it the lg has double image effect an the tcl doesn’t , isn’t oled supposed to be immune to smearing since it’s has 0.1ms pixels response time , I mean i was about getting an c4 or s90d this month but seeing this from lg it’s just puts me off an i don’t know if the s90d has this issue too , The lg VA panel I had already ruined my eyesight badly an I cannot stand buying expensive premium tv just to have the same issue that VA panel has

The TCL is a better value for the price. Android OS alone is already better for me. The colors on the TCL look much better. I don't agree with the claim that gaming is better on the C4. The TCL wins in this area also because of the gaming package features. LG didn't bring the best quality to the game this year. I really hope to see them bringing something special again for the year to come.
