The way Coppola filmed Old Devil Moon was magic - he captured a sensual intimacy that is rare in movies.

We see Coppola here bemoaning on his directional abilities over Tommy Steele's rendition of the leprechaun character. It's refreshing to see a director publicly point out at his own shortcomings, as it helps future directors prepare for the same pitfalls.

Overall it was a fine movie, but where it really shinned was one of the best film soundtracks ever made, with truly great orchestrations and vocals. Sadly, it's a mostly forgotten movie.

Finian's Rainbow was enjoyable and earthy. A great cast also contributed to the authenticity.
