TCM Tribute to Paul Henreid

I have seen most of his movies and I just love him. Ever since I was a teen he is one of the actors whose picture is my wall. I have many favourite movies with him. Now, voyager is my number one. For men only, So young, so bad, In our time, Between two worlds, Joan of Paris and Night train to Much are some others. Such a pity that he seems to be almost forgoten today. One of the most beaitful, handsome and charming actors that ever lived.

Wow! I just discovered Paul Henreid when I watched Spanish Main. I was so impressed with his acting that I've been watching some black and white movies with him. He was an actor during my parents' day. But wow! What an actor he was! I'm so glad to have discovered such a talented actor who was devoted to his wife and family. I love it!

"Why was he so besotted with the waitress...." If you could answer that question, it would go a long way towards explaining the mystery of male-female relationships. It is the age old story of an emotionally vulnerable man succumbing to an unscrupulous woman based on an irrational psycho-physical attraction. It plays itself out when the woman sees that she can exploit the weakness and increasingly gain power over him by employing the 'woman's tricks' of (1) playing 'hard to get' and (2) acting 'cold as ice.' Perhaps there is something primal in his attraction where he unconsciously identifies the woman with a maternal figure from his past.
