My Great Grandfather Benjamin Lawton had a sister, Mary (Lawton) Sparkman, and she was Ned's Mother!

If Ned Sparks wasn't the inspiration for Squidward, I'll eat my hat.

So-Called "Ned Sparks" wasn't even his real name. He was Edward Arthur Sparkman. He obviously sold-out his birth name to the greedy & deceitful 'Hollywood' and anticipation of greater recognition & money. It also implies parental & heritage disrespect. He also had the same annoying monotone voice style like Marion Robert Morrison. They both also shared the same method of acting that sounded like they were reading directly from the script.

Who pissed in your Cheerios? Taking on a Hollywood-persona name wasn't as rare as you might think, and it was more likely done because 'Ned Sparks' is a snappier name that's easier to fit on posters and is easier for people to remember to help draw in more crowds. And as far as the way he sounded, his sharp tone and elongated pronunciation of words made his voice easily recognizable, both in his time and now. Ned Sparks was a good man with solid principles and a decent family life. Maybe you should think twice and do a bit of research before you trounce on the name of an iconic actor.
