I hate that I have to pay full price and can't trade in my PS5 to make the pro a little cheaper but I want to make sure that I'm getting it and not being able to get it once it drops at retailers as they will be scalping those for pure resell. The problem is that the pro isn't going to see much gains in titles that are CPU heavy as that has effectively remained the same; rather, the focus has been on upscalling and the GPU. I also strongly doubt it's a day and night situation as the console itself is literally just balancing two previous modes with upscaling added. Dont get me wrong, I dont really care about resolution, but given viewing distances and complexity of scenes, it was already a stretch with pixel peeping at the base ps5. I think Sony knows that this is targeting a specific demographic and dont expect everyone to rush to buy it currently. That being said, I will wait until it's out in the wild and thoroughly reviewed/ supported with mire games before buying. I'm still keeping my base ps5 as the future of physical content is hazy as I don't have much trust in the situation with the slim and pro detachable drives, leaving questions about supoort in the future and subsequently collections of games I have collected over the years that I refuse to lose out on with a shortsighted purchases for mininal gains.

Love that blue ps5 pro in the opening. Beautiful and honestly how I was going to go with my ps5 pro 💙 can’t wait to jump back to rebirth. Put it down after a couple hours giving both modes a chance and fidelity gave me massive headaches and performance was completely washed out. Was a shame but been hoping the pro will fix it and sounds like they’ve been successful with it

Performance mode on Rebirth is fine. Sharpness obviously wasn't the best, it did get improved, but it was all overblown. I take frames over pixels every time, especially in an action game.

Yes or No are you getting a PS5 Pro day one or not?: Definitely not at all. While people are focused on things like the specs and the numbers associated, my focus was on what the tangible end result is. What was presented was higher quality images that can mostly be attributed to ray tracing effects, and can mainly be appreciated by zoomed in perspectives of granular details. To me, this is a minor upgrade, and not one I'm willing to spend $700 on. I get the argument from the perspective of hardware improvements and those points are valid, but again my focus is on the end result, what I can actually see. I can definitely appreciate the frame rate increase, but honestly a $500 PS5 console should have already had a consistent 60fps, so having to invest in a $700 PS5 Pro to finally get something that should have already been there doesn't seem like a fair deal to me. To add insult to injury, the platform as a whole is severely lacking in exclusive games, in part because they lose exclusivity from time to time. I'm happy for those who are excited to get one, but for me; taking everything into consideration, like having to buy an $80 disk drive on top of all I've just mentioned, it's just way too overpriced for what little benefits they offer.

By all reports, the PS5 Pro provides improved image quality at a more stable 60 fps. That's all I want. Day 1 purchase for me. Over the next 4 years, games are going to tax the base PS5 more and more. As long as the Pro delivers 60 fps, I'll be happy.

On another note I hope Playstation bring back 12 days of play over the festive season I miss that, it was fun seeing what game they are giving us next especially now that PSN premium is so expensive. Also bring back game sharing if you own more than 1 playstation then I could have a PS5 Pro in one room and a base PS5 in another and play via lan without having to buy the game twice. (they use to do up to 5 PS3's at one point)

I keep changing my mind as well. Upgrade my gpu to a 4070 super or changing my ps5 for a ps5 pro. I want to play more in the living room but my 1440p screen there doesnt do the ps5 justice, so Im bound at playing in my bed on my LG c2. With icc profiles my pc games look good on my 1440p. I like to play with kb and m as well. But still… Playstation always wins me over in the end. I’ve been running the same games on pc and ps5 one after the other to try to decide what I’m going for and I’m losing my mind🙃 So yeah, check if yr screen is good enough… Image quality will improve more drastically changing to a good screen then upgrading to the pro imo.

I hope I can run black myth wukong better. 4k 60fps with better ray tracing is enough for me to pay the $699.99. I hope GTA6 can run 4k 60fps. All ps5 games should look better and run better, ps4 tittles too. The ps6 should be using the equivalent of a RTX4080ti super. So pc gamers can still brag about the new RTX5090 with 36G and a new ryzen 9 20090 with 64 cores and 128 threads for the low cost of $6k
