Some additional changes I noticed: According to the Tattle at 29:11, Piranha Plants could migrate to the ceiling. According to the tattle at 33:57, Yux had two different attacks, whereas in the final version, it only has one. Spiky Goombas are called “Spiny Goombas” as shown at 3:26. The description for the Shine Sprite is different at 20:32. Koops’s line after leaving the spike room at 23:55 is different. In the final version, he says something along the lines of “Man, that was TOO close!” The partner’s overworld movement is different. Fir instance, Koops bugs out on the stair puzzle at 21:49 in a way I’ve never seen in the final, Flurrie moves more slowly at 26:49 and therefore tends to lag behind Mario, and Koops doesn’t hug the spikes at 23:40 the way a partner normally would in the spike room.

I remember playing this while my parents were shopping at Sam’s Club back in the day, I vividly remember playing the Boggly Woods part over a few times due to the time limit and seeing how far I could get. I had to have been 10 or 11 at the time, I loved Paper Mario and was so pumped to find out it was getting a sequel. Thanks for the nostalgia!

I think it’s funny. Not only are there multiple subspecies of Piranha Plant that seem to thrive in their environments, the OG is still the most powerful-so powerful it’s relegated to an exclusive area. They do be surprisingly tanky on casual runs.

+Colton Rushton I didn't have a disc. It was in Toys R Us, and I think there was also a version on the website. It was like a point and click game, where you just explored some of the new locations and got to know a few of the characters. Each area had a video that showed gameplay.

Anyone else notice they called the Courage Shell a "Courage Cola?" I wonder if it originally had the Chuckola Cola icon with the same effect. The shell makes more sense for a defensive item. The Piders' web shots are definitely faster. I used to play this in the store before I finally decided to buy the game. I always got stuck at the river because I didn't know to check through the grass to build the bridge, so I didn't know you could get any farther.
