This pattern should have so many views. I've been tying for close to 2 years, and I just learned at least 5-6 things. You are a King of instruction. Thank you.

Schlappen is awesome material. Spot on about one feather doing double duty as maribou and hackle. Now to find some fluorescent chartreuse bead chain eyes.

great bugger! Why the bead chain eyes vs fluorescent bead? More flexibility in weight.???

Thanks, Diana, and great question! This video is an older one and I am unsure why I made that decision at the time. Honestly, it may have been because that was the material I had in that color! I do prefer tungsten beads now when tying these, though if the fish you're chasing likes to see eyes, then go with a bead chain or something more visible with a pupil. Hope all is well! Redneck Hippie Thanks for the comment, and white is such a great color everywhere! I have actually never fished for walleye in that area, so maybe try calling some local shops in that area for recommendations. Sounds like a great trip with both walleye and the 500...nicely planned! Thanks again, and good luck to you, too. Tim
