I have used many of these videos in my chemistry course thus far, so I feel it is time for me to leave a comment. I am doing chemistry for the first time online, teaching myself, and I have been SO lost until I discovered your channel. A HUGE thanks to you, I may actually be able to get into the college of my choice!

much thanks for this video. Our teacher was explaining something like this today but didn't really get to the simplest point all you need to do is create a conversion factor.

I teach Chem. Just checking if it’s easier for students to insert 2 conversion factors that are both 12 in / 1ft. Then when you multiply the units ft2 cancels with ft x ft & in x in becomes in2 which is what you want! Thoughts?

when you squared the 1,609 km you came up to 2,589 km squared. How did you get to this number? I got 1,609 x 1,609 = 2,588,881. which in SN it is 2.6 x 10 to the power of 6. The same happened when you cubed 1,609 km.I got 4,165,509,529. which in SN is 4.2 x 10 to the power of 9.

shouldn't the answer for the 2.4 ft^2 problem be 346? the total was 345.6 how'd he get 350?
@joeyvaldez8356 жыл бұрын
Significant figures
@tanyarichards30026 жыл бұрын
@Lyman Bybee With significant figures it would round to 350. You must round to 2 significant digits because 2.4 has 2 significant digits.

Absolutely not. 2.4 square feet is 28.8 inches. 28.8 inches squared is 829 square inches. I can’t figure out what math you’re doing to get 345.6, but it is not correct.
