This is what separates great teachers from mediocre teachers. In fact, all my best teachers at university have had this kind of passion for their topics. I remember a physics teacher I had a couple years ago who would improvise a lot and sometimes build his own demonstrations, then photograph them in his free time and be like "the coolest thing about this picture is that I have done it all myself! I built it yesterday and took a shot of it with my cellphone", just all casual like that, lol. And one time about 20 minutes before an exam he casually walked into the exam room with a backpack, and looked exactly like a student (he was around 40 years old, so he didn't look that old), and then the invigilators were like "are you taking this exam?" and he was just like "nope, I am the examinator :)", lmao. He was pretty awesome.

It's always a wonderful experience to watch the lectures of Tyler. The following subtopics are covered in the video: 1) Electrochemistry 2) Redox Reactions 3) Electrolysis 4) Electrolytic cell 5) Electrodes and their types 6) Electrolysis of water Thank you for all. ❤

I really like your step by step illustrative description of this process. That is the way everything should be taught, "bottom up." A lot of teachers/profs assume a basic foundation knowledge and jump right in the middle which leaves many students confused right from the start. Instead of understanding the process, many students just memorize applicable information to pass a test and they are left with a big question mark.

@tdewitt451

Great question! It's actually more like the copper atoms have a magnetic-style pull on the electrons in zinc, so it's like they're getting pulled out of the zinc by a stronger force.

Hi sir. In electrolysis of water, we must force electrons out of oxygen and push it into hydrogen, so we use anode to pull the electrons. but in the glass u have both hydrogen and oxygen atoms as water , why can't it naturally happen that the anode pulls the electrons from hydrogen who is ready to give 'em than forcing it from oxygen who's not ready?how are we sure it is forcing electrons out of oxygen where u have both kind of atoms present?

if u see a molecule of water , oxygen has 2 lone pairs of electron ... hydrogen dont have any ...

that is why we use a battery so that electrons can be pulled from the oxygen atom which has two lone pair of electrons
