This was my first Phalanx game (still waiting on Coalitions and Bretwalda), and my first Eastern Front game. The rules about obstacles were a bit confusing at first, but I thought it was fun, and pretty straightforward but with strategic depth. I would love more WWII games using this game system. North Africa, D-Day, heck even a WWI Western Front game would be interesting.

Good game indeed. Especially when you want to present something to your friends looking for stepping up from getaway games in the hobby. I take your point, that it may lack a little bit meat on the bones, though. Cheers

Staying on Eastern Front - have you played “Quartermaster General. East Front.” I wonder your opinion about it. I think it’s a piece of a good game.

Fantastic game. I thought that this one was a really tight game. This one just missed my top 10 games of 2023 and I think that if it had just a little more as you mentioned it might have made the list. Still this is one that I would play again for sure.

Wow, this game actually looks really cool. My friend and I like playing strategy games like memior 44, Stratego, Catan, Chess, and Risk. Games that have dice to determine wins, or using a variety of different units to win. also like war games that only take a few hours to play. might have to give this a try if I can find a copy for a fair price

Quite a few people. It’s a very different game. Less chance in this with card draws in Memoir ‘44.

Much Faster set up, not too much thinking involved in set up. Easier to learn and play for new gamers. I'm guessing that it could be played in less time as there are alot less hexes and less choices of direction that you can play in. Less complicated rules. No line of sight rule. But memoir 44 is definitely the more exciting game. I think having both would be good.
