Pandemic: On the Brink turns a classic game into a terrific game. Mage Knight: Lost Legion adds an essential villain/objective. Everdell: Belfaire. Don’t play without it. Canvas: Reflections. Never play without it. Doubles the draft options, adds double-sided cards, and gold awards. Galaxy Trucker: Big Expansion adds “boosters” for everything - recharge batteries, better shields/weapons/hyperspace engines. Fun topic. Totally agree with you on Expeditions (smoothes out the early game, quality of life imrpovements) annd Unfathomable + From the Abyss. It adds a lot of fun content and quality of life improvements (e.g. the personal story cards). In fact, in kind of a related topic, Battlestar Galactica is now a game I likely wouldn't play anymore, despite adoring the theme. I think Unfathomable does it better for me. A few other games for which I also heavily favour playing with the expansion(s): Tapestry by Stonemaier Games (more civs + rebalancing, more cards, more board options, ...) and Outlive by La Boite de Jeu (more post apocalyptic locations to visit and options for your survivors without adding complexity).

Terra Incognita was a major improvement to Civilization, as were the expansions for Fantasy Flights Fallout game. Same with Outer Rim, its expansions made bounty hunting way better for example. Another great idea would be Unnecessary Expansions! For my own money, I really don't like TI4's expansion, Prophecy of Kings. After many plays of the expansion and the base game between different groups, base TI4 just has a clean, lean beauty to it (hard to believe!). The expansion adds so much bloat and extra crap to track that, truly, the challenge to obtaining victory is simply being able to juggle that many plates at once. I hate it.

Pegasus is overrated, TBH. The new ship is fine, but I would rather just play the base game or with the fleet board from Exodus.
