Thanks for reviewing the game, Cody! I’m so happy to hear you all had a great time. This was a labor of many years!

Tracing my family history there's an ancestor who was a nobleman who sat at King Arthur's table; he was also a carpenter who actually designed and maintained the famous round table... ... .. ... ... His name was Sir Cumference.

I had a friend who's ancestor was the guard for the table room every other day. He was frequently active in One Knight Stands.

Love the insane randomness of Arabian Nights. Hoping this is as good. Arabian Nights is a game where you need to be ok with what happens. It's a journey not a game to be "won"
@TheDiscriminatingGamer11 күн бұрын
@@GenestealerUK Yeah. Kind of the same case here.

Yep. It's silly and winning is irrelevant because there are few smart choices available.

Stayed away from this one due to the heightened inclusivity that isn’t historically accurate. I make my way to Boise every so often though if you’d like to schedule an Arabian Nights session.
@TheDiscriminatingGamer11 күн бұрын
At the end of the day, it's a fantasy game and not terribly historically accurate at all. Let me know when you're in town.

@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Don't you have a PHD in History?
@TheDiscriminatingGamer10 күн бұрын
@ I do.
@Hedgehobbit10 күн бұрын
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer I thought so. It just seems that ignoring historical inaccuracies (or, more precisely, genre inaccuracies) is a strange take from a person with a PHD and a KZbin channel about history. In this specific case, with such a huge story book, it's hard to judge just how much modern day ideology is inserted into the game as you can't read the book without spoiling it.
@TheDiscriminatingGamer10 күн бұрын
@@Hedgehobbit History is my profession, and therefore I take it very seriously as it is represented in scholarly and academic circles. Games are games. This game in particular is far more akin to fantasy than actual history. If I didn't play "historical" games because of inaccuracies, and I wouldn't play "historical" games at all.

Sorry, you missed Tales of the Arabian Nights. There are used copies out there for over $100, or you could just hop on a plane and come over for a quick game. Since I've read One Thousand and One Nights as well as played TOTAN, I think it's worth mentioning that the game is inspired by the literature. It is not locked into it. I suppose this version is similar. Thanks for the video.

I know Arabian Nights is being reprinted and on crowdfunding now. Not sure how much it changed though.
