We are His image-bearers, and as Christ became sin to cure us, we must also become a part of the cure to heal those around us. Understand, we have to go through bad to get to better. I thank you bishop t.d. jakes, I am feeling very discouraged. I had to walk away from a job of 4 yrs. Being a faithful. Dependable. Hard worker, only to be mistreated, talked bad about & to, low paying, but I just could not fit into the gossip, or the things my boss allowed to take part in & allow, it wounded my spirit, But I had been forced to walk away, not knowing how my responsibilities will be provided for, but trusting god that when one door closes, God opens another, I have grd.kids I may have to take care of & raised, I believe it's my calling to do, my finances not enough to handle but I am trying to believe & keep the faith, remain humble, but not break under pressure, being thankful for what I do have, thank you for letting me suffering don't last always, also don't go unrewarded it's not meant to break me but keep me strong in my race in life.

Thank you Bishop, about 20 yrs ago you preached about baptism of Holy spirit. That it was free and I had never heard preaching about it. Thanks to that message, I was open to getting the Holy spirit later that year at a local Joyce Meyer conference. My mom and her friend went with me and she just happened to pray in tongues. That conference I got filled and I felt like I took a love potion! I realized that alcohol was trying to mimic the authentic intoxication of the love of God's holy spirit.

I’m grateful for this teaching. The title caught my eye; the shock of suffering. Coz that’s exactly what happened to me when my dad was diagnosed of end stage liver cancer and I prayed and stood on scripture, fasted but he didn’t recover. I’d listened to too much teaching on faith and not enough on suffering. I didn’t have a good theology on suffering so I was shaken to my very core. Almost walked away from the faith. Thank you for these words; not everyone walks away with a miracle. The answers to suffering are not always easy but there is a God who will walk us through suffering. Not every story in this life will have a happy ending but may God’s grace help us bear up under our sufferings. Thank you. The body of Christ in this generation needs more teaching on suffering.

I know what emotional pain and suffering feels like. I come from a broken home and a family that's separated, where in the process i lost my brother, mom, husband and children. My dad and I are left alone and we struggle to get along. As a matter of fact my entire family that's separated each individual still struggle to get along with one another although we no longer live together as a happy family. It can be real heartbreaking for me dealing with it most of the times. I wish someone could just stand in the gap with me and pray for a miracle for my family and I to reunite.

Yes Bishop Jakes, I met Jesus in my suffering at the age of while being horrifically abused by an older sister. Magnify Jesus while being abused by a husband who hated God. I knew More of God while going trough the wilderness. My suffering caused me to want preach Jesus. To stand on God’s word. So I went to seminary, became a worshiper, became ordained to live for Jesus. Now at 72, I can not be separated from my God the Father, Jesus my Redeemer and the Holy Spirit my comforter, my counselor and teacher.

Victoria O unless I’m misunderstanding your comment, but sharing my home with anyone other than my immediate family is exactly what we’re not suppose to do! And when I say my comfortable home it was more so to say I could be in a hospital bed, but I’m in my home Thank God! which is more comfortable then being sick in the hospital like so many people are. So I won’t dare complain about having to stay home. And before you tell someone what they should do whom you have no clue about from one comment, perhaps you should refrain from ASSUMING that they are not doing anything. Or perhaps you should focus on what you’re doing.

We have what we need even now ! As we come to grips for some #The #Shock #Of #Suffering. TD Jakes is another #National #Treasure in our space of FAITH ! I cannot believe how piercing this truth is. I had the same experience with my dad's last year and death. I am so grateful to God for his grace and peace to stand with me all through my pain, disappointment and struggles. I was so distraught that He let my father and mother die young. They served God with absolutely everything they had. But I know now that God was with me the whole time and is still with me now and never let me go without no matter what situation I've been in or will be in. Thank you Bishop for being obedient in your service to God and your preaching to the people. God bless you!

So needed to hear this today,it's coming up to the day that my child went home to be with the Lord,and it seems like I relive that day as if it just happen,thank You Lord for being with me in my suffering🙏🏾

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real, it's impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me; it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES! “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest”

This is the type of pastor I can see leading me. The one who's earn the right to teach all about suffering. Christ died on the cross. But even Christ had to suffer. I'm NO exception to the rule.
