I used to be terrified of parrots, because of all the stories about how they were animated bolt cutters and could chop your finger right off. So after hearing that, what's the first thing a parrot does? Opens it's beak and goes in, usually towards something you're sensitive about, like your fingers or something on your head (Parrots can't resist eyeglass ear pieces). Then a long-time parrot owner explained it to me - these birds use their tongue the same way we use our finger tips; unless they're PO'd (which they'll generally make you aware of), they are just getting to know you and even "petting" or grooming you. Suddenly it made sense what they were doing, and my attitude completely flipped 180 degrees.

The parrots were absolutely gorgeous. It made me miss the parrots and umbrella cockatoo I used to own. I became allergic to their dander so had to give them up. It was one of the saddest days of my life. Thanks so much for the video.
