it sounds too good. playing it with the baritone felt right.

Man that TE-2 is so good. I tried to recreate it with my pedals, but it just won't work. I think what makes it so unique is the fact, that it constantly slowes the repeats down and at the same time starts with fast repeats for new sounds. I can't think of another pedal that can do this.

It's one of my favorite pedals! I'm always amazed at what I can get from it, especially in the ambient drone territory. it feels like you can build entire galaxies with it!

I tried my Terra Echo with a EQD Avalanche and couldn't get anything that resembled these vibes. May try again with my SD Dark Sun or Tonal Recall, but I but dd8 on my reverb watchlist.

@@pedalgaze Do you maybe know if there is a way to let sounds slowly decay with the te-2? Mine only has no ~5 sec decay / freeze / oscillation. I would like to get a decay that goes for like 30 to 60 sec or so, but I can't manage it. Do you have any tips?

Awesome and beautiful. I love twisting the size or time knobs on digital plugin delays too, you can either perform or automate some amazing transition effects pretty readily. Raum in particular does pretty stuff this way, but probably lots i don't have do just as well.

I just got my hands on the tera echo on a impulse decision having really no idea what it is capable of. This video is so exciting and interesting and makes me really want to deep dive on all of my pedals. I don't have a dd-8 but I have a couple of different reverb pedals that I am thinking about putting this after. Before I had it in front of my reverb but this changes my entire thought process on how this pedal can function for me. Thank you for making this!
@SkylarJoseph-rx1yr4 ай бұрын
current placement thoughts are boss dd3 -> Walrus Lore -> OBNE Darklight-> TE2 or placing this before the darklight though I think splitting at the dark light could be really cool for the different ways that it may interact on different stereo channels independent of each other since the darklight can be mixed or split
@pedalgaze4 ай бұрын
Heck ya! This is so awesome to hear. I'm incredibly grateful you enjoyed the video. I feel like whatever reverb or delay pedals you have, they will pair beautifully with the tera echo. What you described below sounds killer. I find that you really can't go wrong with placement. Having one in the front of your chain and sending it through your pedals to manipulate it or having it at the end of the chain in stereo to make things sound huge. I was using a darkstar - mood mk1 - tera echo last night and it was awesome. 100 percent wet on the delay setting - recording that in stretch mode on mood then going to the echo! I could talk about this all day lol. Also, had all the knobs at noon on the echo and was getting the weird glitch sound with my baritone. Happy exploring let me know how it goes!
@SkylarJoseph-rx1yr4 ай бұрын
i have been messing around and love the way the tera echo really creates a true like.. raindrop effect. It's unlike anything I have heard. Just doing a muted down strum and hearing it trail in all of it's weird ways. I still haven't been able to exactly strike the delicate balance of maxing out feedback before making my rig explode. trying to get that endless looping effect without it feedbacking into itself and turning into a weapon of amp destruction. I am eagerly awaiting your next videos! I just watched the left brain and that left my brain confused. I'd pick one up if my list of NEED TO BUY pedals wasnt so large but it's on the list now.
@pedalgaze4 ай бұрын
@@SkylarJoseph-rx1yr yeah it definitely sounds like running water! It's super cool to put a looper in front of it. The effect is less announced but gives overall lush sound perfect for ambient stuff. For the latching sound, It is a very minuet adjustment. I'd say like 89- 92 percent for the feedback knob. Maybe I'll include what I usually do to get that setting to show people the entire process for the next vid. Thanks so much for the kind words! Left Brain is absolutely nuts. You can think of it as a LFO machine producing truly unique knob twists that are covers a broad spectrum of patterns. It's the pedal I didn't know I'd need until I used it. Totally expands pedals with expression in such a cool way. I'll get my act together and record a video. Just got an RV-6 so now I have no choice but to combine that with the tera echo for a video!! ha

Awesome video I love my DD3 > Tera Echo or MXR Carbon Copy mini > Tera Echo. I love those for there simplicity but the DD8 omg !!!!! They have packed alot of serious mojo in that pedal !!! Having a DD 20 I liked and some other great multi delay units I decided I could "go without the DD7". However the DD8... not sure how long I can hold off putting this before my tera echo on my barroom floor/basement party/small club board. I love BOSS pedals they are basically indestructible these single pedal units!!! Sounds are great from these 2 as well and nice combos here ! cheers

When you run the distortion, do you put it before or after the reverb?
@pedalgaze6 ай бұрын
hey! For this video, the tera echo and dd-8 are before distortion. feeding them into the ua dream in stereo and using the pre to distort it. I usually have two reverbs on my board one pre distortion for wild sounds and one post near the end of my chain.

The tera echo sounds good with just about every thing or could be tweaked to. Source audio has the ultra wave which is like tremelo with articulate distortion. Tera echo has low keyed changed my almost as much as playing guitar has

Can you add an octave down thingy to it ? That might be large.
@pedalgaze6 ай бұрын
Hey! Are you referring to the shimmer on the dd-8? Unfortunately, it only adds octave up to the repeats but I'm sure the dd-500 could do a octave down to make things sound super dark. Fun fact, if you leave the tera echo droning forever, it eventually starts to get rid of all high frequencies and do a low frequency drone. Found out by leaving it to drone overnight ha.
@lostinpa-dadenduro75556 ай бұрын
@@pedalgaze I was thinking something like this: an octave pedal with an octave down blend then that into the DD8 and then into the Tera. 😀
@pedalgaze6 ай бұрын
@@lostinpa-dadenduro7555 now that would be sick! An octave down with a baritone would be amazing! I'd go a step further and down tune as well , which might produce the lowest note in existence lol. definitely need to grab an octave at some point! cheers!
