I'm glad you didn't have to skip that beautiful section of trail. The mud was your warm up for the next two forest sections after Te Anau as you'll no doubt know by now.

Was so lovely sharing a few days with Maud. I saw that Kurt had finished, well done to him and his videos have been a great help in our planning. TA is the gift that keeps giving, and not to be underestimated, forever challenging but rewarding in equal parts ❤️

Will bel lovely for you to catch up to Judy. She has done so well with her injuted ankle and powered on. You probably will be feeling better now that your cold has passed Nikki. It is exciting that you both will be finishing together and will be venturing home to your husbands and families.

Thank you and my cold is much better. It’s lovely to be back with Judy, she has done so well and her ankle is much better now. We have some long days ahead of us but up for the challenge 😃

Looked cold and watery, even the Taipo hut is 700m odd in elevation so probably adds to the cold a bit, as does a lack of trees to slow the breeze. Cheers!!!
