Sorry guys ... but you crossed the Turakina 300m further down river than you should have ... before crossing the river, your other marker is 300m upriver from where you crossed. Then you walk along the bank down river to the second marker ... where you can safely exit from the river sand. From there, is to follow the vehicle tracks to the blue rope. You got across safely which is the main thing. One of the blessings of that sobo river crossing is the shower at Koitiata Campground. And rest!!! Our friends house looks directly onto the Campground. If we have need gor any TA to need checking or help - they are our go to for the added support to TAs. As we often say ... onward and upward! By now you are already in the Manawatu ... Yep. The spot we crossed really didn’t feel right but we didn’t see any other markers. I think something needs to be put on the beach to show where to cross up to the river crossing. Merry Christmas!

South bank TA marker on fencepost then walk down river to the other post ... where you disembark from the river. A good point you have raised. We will go and check the river crossing markers. So thank you for drawing that to our attention. We'll go fix it. ​@freedom_on_the_trail
