Another important point about societal expectations and goals is that they have broken their promise (I'm looking at you "get a uni degree and buy a house with a family of 3-5 kids to look after"). Gen Z has likely awoken to the reality - be it consciously or subconsciously - that these simple goals don't get you where they said they would anymore. And as everyone is coming to terms with it, we are looking more and more for ways to still make our lives worthwhile. Not that a life without a house is worthless, but rather with something else worth striving for that is more realistic. For many people that seems to be work-life balance and increasing free time. Maybe refocusing on living your life in the moment and finding joy in that instead of working for a better life in the future. We are probably not alone in realizing these things, so I'm curious how society, it's norms and the economy will change over the years.

Such a great insight!! You’re so right about the broken promises, can’t believe I forgot that. It’s so true though - we were led to believe that if we went to college, all the doors would be opened for us. That’s just so far from the truth today. Young millennials and gen z are definitely fed up. Thanks for watching and discussing further 😊
