Tea Tasting - Duckpoop Dancong Oolong Tea

I went in today with a friend for a tea tasting session, and Matt gave us this to try. It was as Matt said! Starts off fruity and aromatic, then the bitterness before slowly fading away. Anyone in the SYD area, I can highly recommend Tea Angle. It was my first tea tasting session, and I thoroughly enjoyed the teas as well as Matt's intimate knowledge of tea! Plus, he's super friendly too 😄

No worries. We did have a producer tell us once that Duckpoo Dancong's "actual" name is 银花香. And we were like, yeah nah, it's Duckpoo. So some are still trying 😄

Still my favorite. Ever since my first tasting several years ago I have yet to find another tea that I love more than duck shit.

It's a pretty special tea. Have you tried other types of Dancong Oolong teas?

@@teaangle I don't think so! What are some other types? I recently tried a "black dancong" from a tea company in America, but I couldn't find any information on it so I'm not sure if that is a real thing or not.

@@Malini108 Some other types are Honey Orchid (Mi Lan Xiang), Da Wu Ye or Eight Immortals (Ba Xian). All technically the same type of Oolong tea but can have fairly unique flavour profiles. Dancong black teas are a thing but not very common

May I know how long are you steeping it for? My first few infusion are bitter even when I try to brew it for 10 seconds

Usually I steep it for about 5secs per infusion. If you find that's still bitter, try using less leaves
