It says on the website to visit the Japanese embassy website for your country. It looks like this year they have a participant from Poland.

I have a video on how non-native speakers can teach abroad on my channel 🙂 Typically it’s easier if you are a certified teacher, have a degree and have a certified level of English. I also recommend getting some teaching experience in your country before going abroad.

Back in 2009 I taught English in South Korea for a year and was offered another 2 years extension but instead went back to America for a corporate position. Recently I have had the opportunity to retire early and would like to get back into teaching. Hey I have a question I’m hoping you can help me! I’m TEFL certified and wanted to teach abroad at some point. I have a boyfriend who isn’t TEFL certified and I was wondering if there are any programs that would allow me to bring him? Or is there a better way to go about this? Thanks!

Some visas allow you to add a dependent, but you usually need to have legal (marriage or domestic partnership) relationship to do this. If he has a job where he can work remotely, lots of countries have digital nomad visas. Otherwise he might want to consider getting TEFL certified 🙂

The easiest way is on a Work Holiday Visa. You’ll need to be from an eligible country and have a TEFL and bachelor’s degree. Otherwise you can look into Skilled Visas if you are a certified teacher.

Those countries don’t have teach abroad programs. It’s more common to go through recruiters.

You will need a TEFL to teach in Spain as a non-native speaker in most cases.

Most programs look for native English speakers. Your only real option is to get a student visa and TEFL and teach in language academies part-time.
