Thanks for an informative video as always, have applied some of your tips and tricks with my kiddo. I have a question regarding slant boards, how to use them correctly and the angle of the page on the slant board vs on a table
@TheOTGuide2 жыл бұрын
Hey Angelica, I am so sorry for the delay. Slant boards can be awesome tools for kids. I use them for students that have a hard time keeping their wrists extended during any type of coloring/drawing/writing activity. Slant boards are also great for our visual system and make anything we put on the slant board easier to read (our eyes prefer reading things at a slight angle). Slant boards should make a ~30 degree angle. Depending on whether your student is right-handed or left-handed, you want to angle their paper towards that hand very slightly. For example, if your student is a righty, you want his paper to be turned so the bottom of it is angled towards the right and the top is angled towards the left. Does that make sense? It is tricky to describe. Let me know if you have any further questions and thanks for supporting the channel! Best, Dana

These videos are great. Thank you. Is there a brand you recommend for markers, grips, crayons to promote correct grasp? I’ve seen the short markers but just wondering.

Hey Nadia!! Thank you for your sweet comment. I don't have any specific brand - I usually just use short golf pencils or crayons that I break in half :) Any writing utensil that is short is helpful because it prevents kids from using their whole hand on it

If you want your toddler to learn to draw teach them big arm movements. Drawinf and writing comes from the shoulder , yes from the shoulder. So dont teach them to draw on paper, instead throw a ball with them, give them sticks to throw, make shapes with a ribbon in the air etc. They will have better control of their hand later on.
