I don't know if you've upgraded already but the Milwaukee wire strippers are super premium and I couldn't dream for a better set. Worth the $32
@Teach2Build8 жыл бұрын
I am still wearing out my existing set, but I'll check those out. Milwaukee may be hard to spell, but they make great tools!

Hands Down for those Strippers. It's one of the best I have used so far. Most stripper lasts me 3-4 months depending on often i use them, These have been in my belt for almost 7. And they are still as good as the day i bought them. Very well worth the price.

Also on MC cables/wires, I just break them and use a dice, Save your back not having to carry that tool while you're suspended in an attic or rooftop. Since it's majority of where you would use MC.

I am about to change a ceiling fan, I watched your video specifically on the subject. I am not much of a handyman so I just wanted to be sure I don't shock myself, when turning electricity off, do you mean simply making sure that the light switch is turned off or do I actually turn off the electricity for the entire house before before touching any wires?
@Teach2Build7 жыл бұрын
Andrew Semedo Sorry for the delayed response! Although just turning off the switch should be enough, you never know when someone will come along and flip it on! Safety dictates shutting off the breaker for that branch. Best of luck!

A high-quality tester for a service electrician to use in the field every day will run well over $100, but would be well outside the needs of the average diy'er. I own a beautiful unit that has all the bells and whistles settings, most of which never get used. But I'm not driving a service truck around day-in and day-out. Stay safe and thanks for watching!

“Armored romex” ahaha it’s MC Metal Clad cable, it looks like BX which is an old outdated wiring system of Armored Cables or AC.

Thanks for the clarification, Tim. Keeping things simple often involves not splitting hairs, though. Best of luck with your projects!

What the hell kind of electrician are you? Every electrician knowns if you can't find the breaker for a outlet you just short it out. Beats the hell out of buying a $35 tool.

twn5858 ha! Good point. What was I thinking?

Wait, seriously? How would you short it out, safely, btw?

My experienc thw small fish tape by Klein it's bull shit
@Teach2Build7 жыл бұрын
Aspen Electrico not all tools are for all people, that's for sure. I personally love this little tape. Carrying around a big beast 100 footer gets old quick. Funny thing, though, is that lately I've used fish rods much more often than tapes. Be safe!
