Those old-timey bicycles with the big front wheel and tiny back wheel were called penny-farthings, in comparison to the sizes of common coins at the time. A farthing was 1/4 of a penny; it's the back wheel and the penny is in front.

the penny farthing was the name given to the bike with a big wheel on the front, where the pedals were attached to, and a small wheel at the back so he wanted his horse and cart to look like that, so if you look closely at the horse, his front legs are still the right length but his back legs have been cut off so it gives the "penny farthing" stance big wheel(front legs) at the front and small wheel(legs cut off) at the back

There is a classic Australian poem called Mulga Bill's Bicycle which has been depicted in children's book form as being a penny farthing (though it isnt in the poem). She does look like the figures.. Firstly she got a very round face. But also glasses that looks a lot like the glases a lot of the female characters use. Then she got a mouth that is fairly visible.
