I clicked on your video hesitantly because I’m interviewing for SPED positions and thought your video would have questions more for elementary school teachers. Your questions are very similar to what I was asked in the past interviews for middle/high school SPED positions that I’ve interviewed for! I loved how you broke down the answers. This video is extremely helpful. I freeze during my interview so that’s why I haven’t received an offer yet ;( I do sound so robotic.

Its okay! It is a learning experience! Just learn from it! TRUST ME, I have had mess ups in interviews but dont expect to be perfect! Just keep trying and learn every time! For the robotic tone in your voice, just connect with what your saying with your emotions, soul in some way. Its hard to explain but you will figure it out! :) Good to know about the interview questions being similar to middle and high school! I will hopefully be applying for middle school positions next year!

I wish I had you as my 5th grade teacher. My last name started with a W, so I had to sit in the back of the class. We didn’t know I was legally blind 20/400 and couldn’t see the board. So my teacher would always say to me that I was “a day late and a dollar short” because when he’d write a problem on the board and call on me, I always answered “I don’t know.” I honestly thought all the kids couldn’t see the board, except the front row, and we were all expected to do the long math in our heads as he said it out loud. I asked if I could sit on the front row. Of course the answer was No, because my name started with a W. That was in mid-1970s. He hurt my heart so many times I had zero motivation to learn from him or to ask a question. Zero safety.

Awe Im sorry to hear that. I didn't have the best luck with teachers either. That is the main reason I felt so drawn to becoming a teacher in the first place. To be the teacher that I never had. Take that experience and transmute it into a lesson that spreads love and positivity

A little advice on the "What is your weakness?" question. Always give an example and remind them that while this is a weakness you have, you are finding ways to improve on that weakness. For example, during my student teaching, one weakness I had involved transitioning from one task to the next such as going from a warm-up to a lecture. While this is a weakness I have, I am working with my co-workers, using self-help books, etc to improve this and do better so that this will become a strengh.

If the interviewers give a vague question, there is nothing wrong with asking to clarify it. I forgive you for misspelling educator as educater. Hey girl UPDATE: yesterday, I had an interview with the Superintendent and the principal. When he called me later that evening, he said that they were very impressed with me and he wanted to offer me a position that same second, but he had other interviews he had to follow through. With that being said, I got a job offer thanks to your tips!!!!!
