Schools do that with pedophiles All. The. Time. After my father's death, when I cleaned out his rental home, I discovered undeniable proof that my father was a pedophile. He was also a high school teacher and football coach. His preference was high school age girls. He had been let go from several districts through his life. I found those documents. They were all for inappropriate interactions with students. All of them. The last weeks of my dad's life is when my sister and I started suspecting him of this. We came up with a game plan for me to confront him and her to get in contact with the family of the girl we felt he was targeting at that time. It was a teen girl from his church. I was planning to confront him the next day after we came up with a game plan. That night, he had a stroke which hospitalized him. In the hospital he had another extremely massive stroke, which killed him. He never left the hospital. He had access to a whole pool of victims that met his preferences for his entire career because no school district would stand up for children, and instead wanted to just cover their own ass. It's disgusting. The evidence I found was disgusting, and reading the official paperwork from the various forced resignations from so many different school districts was horrific.

I am appalled that so many of these perverts just get moved from place to place, and nothing is ever resolved. And to you and your family personally, I'm sorry you had to live through that, and to find proof in that way. Good luck going forward, whatever you do.

How did you change it? Our schools are gun free zones now. Yet weren't when I went to school and we had no school shootings. We had kids with rifle racks in their trucks with ammo so they could go hunting after school. Yet no shootings. Columbine was the last not orchestrated school shooting in this country. They saw the fear and said ah ha that's how we are going to get the gun control we want. Yet Chicago proves gun control does nothing but make more victims.

When you walked into that classroom you could just feel the joyful and welcoming presence. Walking into that classroom for the first time after she was gone was so painful because you no longer felt that warm, and joyful feel. Everything was cold and desolate, the joy had been completely sucked out of the room, but when all the choir kids came together and sang you could feel a little bit of the joy and warmth in that room again. It’s been almost 5 months now since she passed and the choir room still dosent feel the same without her but I know that we’re making her proud. Fly high Ms W ❤️.

Deaf doesn't always mean completely without hearing, many registered deaf people have some level of hearing. They're also forced to adapt in a world not suited to the needs of deaf folks most of the time so you'll find that many deaf people will have some lip reading abilities. Some folks lose their hearing through illness or injury after they've learned speech so even though they need to keep practicing their diction, they can communicate very well through speech. And then there's all the adaptive tech that is slowly being introduced nowadays, i know some people who are deaf that use interactive apps and text to speech to communicate with coworkers or clients, so it's a whole myriad of things really! @Allthingsedits505

When I was in middle school, that’s typically the age people go through puberty, and I have Tourette’s syndrome. If you know anything about Tourette’s syndrome, puberty usually makes the tics worse. My principal flat out told me I didn’t belong there and my principal did everything he could to make my year a living hell. They barricaded the door on the first day of school and would not let me go to class until the first period was over. They told me if I ticced more than three times in a single day that they would call an ambulance, and if you know anything about Tourette’s, that is ridiculous.

I am so happy there are admins and teachers that care about kids. I sometimes get angry and defensive, and want to point out when the school system failed me so much, because I had undiagnosed adhd and autism until my early 20s (which I'm in my mid 20s now so it's still very recent I'm still grieving) becaus I was bullied by the school, misstreated by the teachers, punished for my disabilitie so many times, neglected, I never forget how one of my teacher in high school watched me have a meltdown after class in the hallway, because she just told me I failed the calss again, ad will need to repeat a year AGAIN, because I was so deeply burned out, but noone knew that, so she just assumed I'm being lazy, and it was the last class that day, the school was getting empty, I was sobbing, laying on the floor, bearly being able to breath, I had only my friend who stayed with me, and she left the class, sew me, told me it's all my fault, and there is no reason to cry and left us. We were both minors. She left one minor having a meltdown on the floor, with another minor, nor knowing what to do with me, in a empty school hallway. That was so deeply traumatic, and I hold a lot of anger towords teachrs, and admisn for all that happened to me, so it's a healing and educating experiance to watch those videos and podcasts, and learn that not everyone is there to bully me, not everyone hates their students, not all people in school system are bad people, who only care about themselvs. It makes me feel less hatefull, more forgiving, to some teachers and admins, that maybe wanted to help me sometimes, but couldn't or didn't know how, and just safer, that now as I have more knowlage myself, and I can better advocate for myself, there are people that will now help me, because altho I have my diagnosis now, I still am often sceard, that I'm gonna go to the doctor, or to work, or if I ever go to univercity, or to some kind of public... office.. department... (the places you do taxes, and documents, and passports, and IDs, and disability benefits and all those kind of stuff, how do you call them in english???) that they will just call me faker, and stupid, and refuse help, and just trow me out the door, and tell me I need to grow up, and do it all myself, because that's how I was treated so many times in school

Okay I need to tell you my "water gun teacher" story. I was maybe 8-10 years old, and I was attending CCD at a Catholic school on Saturdays. One of the teachers was sick, so one of the Mon-Fri teachers subbed in for her. One of my classmates was misbehaving and not listening, and the teacher pulled out a plushy baboon, and told her to sniff the monkey's butt. We were all kind of like confused, and she said if you are going to act like a monkey's butt you're going to have to sniff the monkey's butt. She put the plushie in the girls face and the girl slapped the plushie out of her hand. And she assigned me to bring her to the office for "violence". The principal was very confused as well. And the week after that, there was no more monkey plushie and her name tag was off her desk. 😂

Mr. Whites story about being kinda like a “celebrity” among the kids at his school reminded me a lot of a someone from my elementary school, growing up. His name was Mr. Christie. I’m not sure what he did when he was in the elementary school. But every time he entered the cafeteria kids would cheer his name, and lineup for high-fives. I didn’t know that well but I got so excited I started doing the same and it was fun. He was a cool dude with long hair and a mustache. He smelled faintly of cigarettes, but no one cared. He later moved to the high school, and I got to meet him on a more personal basis. He was more like a helper of sorts. he had his own office and would monitor the halls and stuff. And if there were repeat trouble makers he’d take them under his wing and try to mentor them. He just have them go to his office and they just chat. He literally grow a friendship with these kids so he could actually learn about what’s troubling them instead of just punishing them. (He wasn’t a guidance counselor tho) when you go to visit him he’d offer you a Diet Coke out of his mini fridge, and a full-size chocolate bar out of his desk drawer. And then you just sit there and talk about whatever. And if you weren’t up to talking talking about yourself, he talk about himself . And about his life outside of the school. He was an amazing down earth dude that would tell you exactly how it is. I loved him so much. Here’s some cool things I learned about Mr. Christie: he worked as a bartender on the weekends, he played hockey, he was a biker at one point. And he was also a troubled kid when he was younger. He took the job at the high school so he could be what HE needed when he was younger, and I thought that was so sweet. Anyways, sorry for the long humongous ramble. At the end of the day, thank you both, for being mini rays of sunshine in these kids lives. It means more to them than you think and they’ll remember you for a very long time.

@MiraBoo9 ай бұрын
That is infuriating! Especially since there is absolutely nothing Satanic or evil (outside of fictional depictions in some pop culture) about a pentagram. All it takes is the tiniest bit of research. Sure, it’s a symbol used via Wiccans (who are also not Satanists), but it’s also Christian iconography. A pentagram, which is often seen as symbol protecting/warding against evil, usually represents one of the following: the five elements, the five senses, the five virtues of Knighthood, or the five wounds of Jesus Christ. Thus, disavowing the pentagram could potentially be seen as an act of blasphemy against the Christian God. The holy water should have been aimed at those demonizing the holy Christian symbol, not the kid innocently drawing basic shapes. Such ignorant and cruel hypocrites.

Former teacher of a school shooter here, (Shooting happened after I left) I think the other thing that isn’t talked about enough When you think about arming, the teachers is: what would happen hypothetically, if the teacher is the one who ends up taking a student’s life, regardless if it’s the one committing the act or an innocent bystander. There is no amount of therapy or medication that will Help that teacher/staff member live with the fact that that kid who they most likely know & taught is no longer alive or seriously injured because one of their bullets.

Teachers have the chance to make or destroy children’s education. Kindness goes so far, if you believe in the child and help them believe in themselves they will never forget that. Teachers also have the power to make kids dread school and themselves.

If my daughter had done all of her virtual learning stuff like she was supposed to, her senior year would have been the first semester. The only main class she had to do was English and then the second semester she could have spent doing all electives. She did not get the remote learning work done

I had a teacher that would squirt the backs of sleeping students' necks with lotion. And this was Bath and Body works lotion from the 90s. The smells were potent!

One time at lunch, I was eating with my friends and the Principle came by and asked "Oh, is it bussan bussan" She was like 60 so we politely laughed at her after she was on the other side of the cafeteria.

I hated my 5th grade principal, my principal had quit after 2 years at my school, she was my 2nd principal, and she was sweet, interacted with students but not that much, on talent show day (the last day of school) she announced she was going to a different school, and there was a chance that my math teacher of that year( we switched classes that year like middle school but with our classes and we weren’t allowed to walk alone) Mr. B had a chance to become our principal, but thank god he didn’t. He moved to a different school. My 5th grade principal, started changing the milk that you buy when you buy lunch, to protein filled chocolates milk, That tasted horrible, we even had a 5th grade debate to keep the old chocolate milk.

I had a teacher in high school that used to teach “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” nonsense before The Davinci Code popularized it. I miss the days when conspiracy theories stayed on Art Bell’s show.

My JROTC teacher was talking about the topic of teachers having guns in school and in hes words "why bring the things we dont want in the schools into the schools" and he went on to talk about how what would happen if there was a shooting and the teacher were to have a gun as well and not aim correctly then there are even more lives at risk there are many lives at risk in a shooting with one gun let alone multiple he also talked about how many shootings are from students so if they know the teachers have a gun some students would be like well its more likely that i get shot so let me not do this but others would look at it with all the mental health issues students have and be like well more people will probably be shot and i'll probably be shot so thats a good idea which is so true because many shootings from students happen when the student has almost like a mental break and cant take it anymore and cant use critical thinking and i think that's another side to look at that debate from because many people dont think about that part

that water story reminded me of this one teacher i had in like 4th grade, she used to take my chair away and i would have to kneel on the rough carpet bc i wasnt "paying attention" or smt (i have adhd and am on the spectrum) and my mom would get very upset when would i told her that she did it again and this narcissist WOULD CLAIM IT. the principal would say that she would tell her not to do it but she kept doing it and it was terrible, and she would so this everyday. she also only treated me like this btw

My daughter came home one day with a huge handprint bruise around her arm and that is something that made me thing the teacher put hand on my kid. The hand print was bigger then my hand she was in kindergarten at the time the teacher got fired other kids had marks too. Took me and five other parents putting pressure on the school for something to get done

Ya during Covid it was a really bad time to be going to school as a teacher or student Like students would be gone for 2 weeks because they were sick but also the school was sending kids not sick home for close contact and having to wait for a negative test to come back and then making up all the late work and this was middle school so that’s 7 classes to make up for

Its interesting hearing how different the american education system is to canadian (I'm from Ontario). Exam season sounds horrible there. For us we just havw to put our phones in the "cell hotel", at the start the teacher explains what is on the exam and then we start. Pretty sure my bio teacher was doing stuff on her computer while we were working on it. Gotta give sm respect to teachers, especially americans that have to put up with weird rules and entitled parents.

I remember when I was in 6th grade I had an English teacher who would put a movie for every class and if we did have an assignment, which was rare, for the students that did it would get the grade they got and anyone who didn't do it would get an automatic 100%. He got fired mid semester and we got substitutes for the rest of the year who also didn't teach us anything. 😂 Please forgive my grammar, I never recovered.

I know you taught Social Studies style courses, but you just give off English teacher vibes. From middle school and through college, my English teachers were always like, “protect him at all costs,” to the point to where one of my English professors would come to the restaurant I worked at once a week and tip me $50 since “volunteering” at the writing center helped with my scholarship lol

TRUE STORY: In my Middle school we have to choose from band, chorus, or general music. Well I choose chorus, but many others choose band, so there was multiple classes. So one day the band teacher was out so they had a sub, RIGHT AFTER and I mean RIGHT AFTER the band class basically all of the students literally ran to the main office and reported the band sub. Later i found out she was calling kids little pieces of s*** and B***** and just being straight out mean. I heard she got fired the same day.

I won’t lie, if my vice principal had been this handsome, I probably would have either tried way harder in school or completely acted out. It would have been a motivator to get sent to his office (in a non weird/creepy way!). 😂

I think they should offer something like karate or self-defense and not just gym class. We always played dodgeball and I always got hit in the face even when I was out I'd have like six balls hitting me one after another as I am trying to walk out of the area of war. And it was very rare to see the coach say anything about it. If we would have played kickball volleyball or anything other than this I would have had a chance at not getting hurt. I was already legally blind in one eye and the school knew this so did the coach. Having self-defense or karate offered to not only students but staff would just ensure that when the right person won't do the right thing they were given the proper information and discipline in order to do the right thing. We can slow down the progression of bullies but we can't keep them out completely. A great offense makes for good defense.

I see the dad on next Friday. He tells his son with this in front of his face and he says you live you live to fight another day. His son was wanting to take out his lifelong bully with a gun and he stops him with that speech. I learned how to play chess and that was a really good defense technique as well. I really love these segments with its interviews not too much of the bad Apple series. 🙏🌎💚🌍💚🌏🙏
