I guess they try to control comments from people who are outraged towards particular guests and minimize the backlash on them. It's up to debate if they should; some of the guests are really shameless and criminally outrageous (for example, the guest in this video) in my opinion, and deserve all the shaming they receive and more. But I understand the show's perspective, as they are in a way responsible for exposing them to the public, and want to minimize the chance some extremist takes this a step further than the comment section. Which, let's be real, is highly unlikely to happen from a total stranger, but still possible, thus it's wise of them to approach this with caution.
