Hello teacher Kirby I want to know if I should drop my shield reg for a epg for my phaser build. Main question is this; does exotic particle damage have any effect on standard phasers or any phasers at all??

EPG has no effect on any energy weapon at this time. You can test things like this in-game. If you go to system space (ESD for example) check the damage listed on the weapon or ability. Make the change you are considering (i.e. add epg) and check the damage listed on the weapon or ability. If the damage is higher, it affects the weapon or ability. If the damage is the same, it does not affect it.

@@TeacherKirby so I’ve yes, and my conclusion is that nothing affects any weapon other then the tactical slots, I’ve checked out so many ways that I’ve branched out to ask for help this subject, now saying that and your the only one that wants to say something on that subject from thousands of builders on KZbin. And I can go around many times over right, I’ve ran high tier sets that just turned out to run very crappy on my ship and I’ve ran other people builds that just did absolutely nothing for me. To break it down plainly for you I can’t find a single person to help me with my build or my character. So again have I checked all this stuff out for myself. A thousand times yes. And that was years and years ago now and I’ve just come back to try again.

I know this question is directed towards Teach but there are quite a lot of options with regards to ships that would well with phaser. As she said in the video ideally you want a ship with 5 Tactical Consoles slots so you'd mainly be looking at Tactical Escorts and Cruisers for optimal console flexibility. On the doff front this will greatly depend on your budget and character progression with doff assignments, such as the colonization chains from the star clusters dotted about Alpha and Beta quadrants. Especially B'Tran for the Ten of Ten Very Rare Technician for Aux2Bat cool down reduction. On more high end builds you will often see people use Delta Alliance Energy Weapon Officers what give stacking critical chance and severity for Energy Weapons. However, these are expensive to get off the exchange. Hope this helps and I'm sure Teach will be happy to give you some guidance on budget friendly options too. :)

Bajoran Interceptor is an Epic Phoenix Token reward lovelies. So be prepared to have spend a lot of refined dilithium to get one if you don't have it from the Anniversary Event.
