It's not an institution, it's not social media, its not school pushing an agenda. I grew up in a christian household at a time where tik tok didn't exist, my parents limited what I would watch once I got a tablet when I was in 9th grade, if any tv show or movie depicted anyone who was queer they wouldn't watch it and would teach. I was taught that being queer was a sin and it was immoral. I was never happy with my sex, I always liked feminine things, clothes, makeup and felt envy for how women's bodies develop. I wanted that and I hated myself for it. Spent till I was 19 doing everything and anything to change until I begun to figure out why I hated myself for having a gender that didn't align with my sex, why I held my religious beliefs and why my political opinions were how they were. Turned out I didn't have a good reason to believe what I believed. I now accept myself as being trans and other queer people. And have moved to be more left leaning in my beliefs. People who are trans, gay, bisexual or lesbian are or were someone's child at some point. The child of someone who maybe did all they could to raise their sons to be a cisgendered straight person that dislikes homosexuality. This isn't something you can change, something abnormal. It is simply who we are nothing wrong with that. Queer people exist, people need to know they exist and that there is nothing wrong with being queer. That's it.

When I asked her reasoning was "it would have been an awkward conversation" you know what would have been an even more awkward conversation? Coming home to tell her I got a girl pregnant or contracted an STI because I didn't know what protection was. And my stepfather didn't teach me shit either, mostly because he wasn't normally around and when he was... well there were good enough reasons not to talk to him, or even dare to look in his general direction without express permission. @@Setsuna012 Except many parents DON'T teach their children this stuff, and the whole point of having this education mandatory in school is to breach that gap in education by providing consistent education to ALL children. Unfortunately, most CSA cases come from a family member, often times causing a culture of abuse within the household. Other adults in the household who are not abusers themselves may become complacent towards abuse. If a child is experiencing CSA from their parent, who exactly is going to teach them that it's wrong? My friend didn't know her fathers actions against her was illegal until she was taught about consent and s3xual abuse in secondary school. 10 years too late, but at least she finally knew what was going on was illegal. Many children miss this extremely important education. Providing comprehensive and complete s3x ed in schools adjusted for different age groups has been proven, time and time again, to reduce teen pregnancy, reduce CSA, and reduce time taken to report CSA. It's a net positive. If I had age appropriate s3x ed, I don't think I ever would have been abused, or it wouldn't have gone on for as long as it had done. My friends who have experienced CSA have echoed these sentiments.

@@theohfiles8619 I absolutely hate this talking point from the right so much. So to you, seeing gay people come out is trendy? It's trendy to be discriminated against, risk getting kicked out, beaten, and killed for being not straight? In many parts of the world it is illegal to be gay. The reason so many people are coming out and trying to make it normal to have gay people in society is so that there will no longer be violence in reaction to seeing a gay person. It's to show that there is no inherent harm to being gay. People in interracial marriage became more and more frequent after it became legal. With your logic, are you going to also say that interracial marriage is a trend since its normalized when for HUNDREDS of years it was seen as something wrong? No! I hope not. So that's exactly what's going on with gay people coming out. As society becomes more accepting of these situations, more and more people will come out and get interracially married or be gay. Before you do the BS talking point of "Well interracial marriage doesn't do any harm." Neither does being gay. Yes there are bad gay people, but the same can be said about straight people. Anyone from any sexuality can do harm to someone but that isn't specific to why gay people, as a whole, is bad. There is no inherent harm that is related to being gay. It is scientifically proven that most p3d0s are straight white men who go after little girls. Does that mean we should prevent straight white men from being shown in media with little kids to not encourage the "straights" to such behavior? Well of course not! On the thing at 9:45, so I did a bit of googling at the claim comes from a quote made by an Australian conservative politician panicking over Australian sx-ed homework and really playing up the drama. What it is, is early sx-ed homework where kids are first taught what their junk actually is, what it's called and what its about to do. At age 10, initial signs of puberty can start (happened to me back then) and kids might wanna know what's going on, so there is a reason to start early sx-ed at that point. At that stage its just talk about anatomy. Think of this as an early primer for the more detailed sx-ed that comes around age 15 Now I'm in New Zealand not Australia, but in the NZ school I went to, I remember schools talking about this stuff for kids aged 11-12. I was introduced to basic male and female anatomy. No it didn't traumatize me for life. Although we didn't really get homework about it. We also didn't deep dive into actual intercourse or anything LGBT. Although I don't know if Australian schools try to talk about that sooner. This was back in the 90s so this type of early sx-ed has already been around for decades On the bit about "sending kids back to their parents to ask". That looks to me more like the homework advising kids that if they're having difficulty with the topic, they can ask their parents for help. And really, wouldn't you as a parent want a bit of agency in this part of their learning? That's what that part of the homework is designed to do: give parents the chance to cover the more sensitive parts and allow parents to give "the talk". I thought conservatives want sx-ed to be given over to parents to handle, and this schoolwork seems to be encouraging just that. I guess when people desperately want to be outraged over anything, there is no satisfying them. Naturally, all the reactionary clickbait news jumped on the story and spun a narrative of "schools are corrupting the kids!" kind of BS. But the sources that actually find the curriculum content and contextualize it show a much less inflammatory story [edit] Ytube, can you please not autodelete my post? Thanks

Only having one entrance would be a HUGE safety risk especially in the case of a fire. Also I believe I read that armed guards (taking away the huge cost that would add to the education system that is already failing) make a shooting more likely. Parkland had an armed guard. Not only that, an arm guard could and have in the past shot the wrong kids.
@EvilGuacamoleGaming2 жыл бұрын
Great video but, here's some things for at the end. One entrance doesn't matter. Mass shooters can circumvent this issue a number of ways. Go through windows, sneak in at the right time through the front, etc. Prepped assaults also give rise to many other responses. Explosives, quick picks. It just can't work. But more importantly one entrance/exit is a problem for fire safety. There's no real reason to think that limiting entrances will help but it will endanger kids if there is a fire. Not to mention even in an active shooter event having multiple exits could prove to help people escape. Armed officers are extremely ineffective at stopping shootings. In the last two decades they have stopped two shootings. They have, however, destroyed the lives a millions of kids who they regularly torment. Usually it's kids with autism or Black kids. Perhaps most importantly is that shooters will make sure they have equipment that matches any opposition they believe they will face. Armed officers in schools seem to cause shooters to seek weapons with greater killing power. 'Hard targets' are really just an excuse for bigger guns and in the end bigger body counts.

i am so sick and tired of idiots misrepresenting kant's thesis for morality. kant's method to determine which DECISION is moral or not can't be applied her becose bean gay is not a frickng decision. it was allso not his only method of moral framework. this is so infuriating.
@BlackCrossCrusader2 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely for or against arming teachers, but what schools need is a specialized system and protocol to deal with armed intruders that is practical. Keeping armed personnel (ex LEO's or military would suffice) within the school would absolutely deter many would be mass shooters from targeting schools as they are easy marks for deranged people to strike at.
@naos81162 жыл бұрын
I think part of that issue is that school would closely resemble a prison.
@BlackCrossCrusader2 жыл бұрын
@@naos8116 If security is done well, you don't really notice a difference in day to day life. A plainclothes officer with concealed carry can act as a hall monitor while a security room with cameras can hold an armed guard(s) on duty who will monitor everything. That's just one small way to help deter mass shooters I can think on the top of my head at the moment.

You should have asked him, in regards to the 'could media be used to normalise paedophilia' if a gun can be used by the teacher to murder the students, because I reckon he wouldn't buy that argument. Just because something *can* be used a certain way, it wouldn't necessarily mean it's bad.

The literal second hunter brought up the “well I can easily say I hate Mexicans” analogy is when he knew he lost, he was so fast to just go “no no no that’s not a good analogy”. My brother in Christ, that analogy is as close to being the actual topic as it can get! Both are: -not something that can be chosen -something so stigmatized we had to use social media to at least make us look human -had teeny tiny percentages of bad cases that were used to simulate our “norm” I am ashamed that I even share a language with someone this brain dead.

Kant was about maxims being self-defeating, not about them "being a mess" or "leading to some bad outcomes", and maxims are typically of "may", not of "must". For example, you steal in order to have something, but if everyone can just steal whenever they feel like it, you don't get to have what you've stolen, because someone else can steal it from you. Therefore, the maxim "you may steal whenever you feel like it" is self-defeating. The maxim "You may enter relationships whenever both you and the person you fancy like" is not self-defeating (although not a great maxim, either, it misses some restrictions like age of consent), and although the maxim "You have to have only gay relationships" would be, it's not proposed by anyone. ... Yes, I know. Someone doesn't understand Kant. It's shocking, really.

Seems like yall dont get the concept of concealed carry. The idea to have a firearm on your person and no one knows you have it unless an emergency occurs. Not lying on desk, in a purse, or with a visible holster. Good or bad, idk, perhaps neutral. Certaibly has to be a deterrent to some degree
