PREACH! I just resigned today. I’m done after 27 years of crap. I’m 51 with lots of years left to work. But I can’t see myself back in the classroom with bossy administration

I LOVE Bri’s policy about if you don’t like someone personally there is no need for them to know in a professional context. Simply no need to get into any of that because how does that benefit the larger system (or even the individuals involved)!! 👍🏻

I was an ESL para for 8 yrs, and I had two teachers that HATED my guts all because I had a relationship with the ESL students. One teacher threw a pencil across the classroom because she thought I was taking over her class. The other teacher thought I was her maid and she leave to “talk to the ESL lead” (cough) bullshit. I am now an AP secretary.

The unofficial parking spot thing is so true. I was out of work due to a car accident since January and I had a parent tell me close to the end of the year that no one ever parked in my spot. Not gonna lie, it gives me a little bit of joy.

I used to teach MS/HS choir. The amount of times kids were late because they were coming from a “State tested subject” was infuriating.
@kamiabroad
@kamiabroad 5 ай бұрын
I really don’t understand why they do this! I was a state tested subject too but I always tried to get them to come in after school or during lunch like we can work and eat together. There were very few times I had to pull a kid from another class and I always asked the teacher if it was okay first.😭

I had an older teacher who was beefing with me. She called me a child because I said I didn’t really like reading nonfiction (we are both English teachers), she got upset I knew more about science than her(we had a pd where we were answering questions and I could answer them while she struggled), and she tried to compete with me over test scores and got upset when my students did better than hers 😂

when i was in 6th grade , my classes were held in my towns old high school bc the middle school was being remodeled. we had a long term sub for my math class who had us sit for 5 mins because everyone else was being disrespectful and loud. she didn’t tell the crossing guard, who wasn’t pleased with the subs choice

I've been teaching IB elementary for 10 years, there is NO curriculum, I need to create it each year, and I teach all subjects. We need to meeting each week for 3 hours, what a waste of time. We get in trouble for giving worksheets. IB teachers really have a hard time working together, but that is our whole ideology.

The only time I’ve seen my teachers hold students is if they have a few questions left on a quiz or test I understand how it can affect but from what I’ve seen if it is gonna take to long they will just let the kid if it’s allowed to finish the next day

Grades are not a reflection of your knowledge. Grades just show you how obedient and how good someone is at studying. Also school does not set you up for the rest of your life. It actually probably does the complete opposite.
