12:13 It makes me smile. That was exactly what our teacher did to us when we were 9. "Look at that class, they always behave." "Learn from that class, they're always quiet." I guess that is cultural difference, I talked to a few friends from other schools, we all have same memories, haha. Glad we all grow up and can laugh about it together.

I love your videos, thank you for making them and all the free pdfs 🥰 I just wanted add a comment and say that my kid's been 'watching' TV since he was 3 months old. To clarify, the TV has always been on in the background. He didn't stare at it all day and started to show a little interest around the age of two but then he also only watched like 1 show that he was actually watching (always only in English) back then. He is 10 years old now and I don't think it caused him any harm. He's very smart, bright, focused, has rich vocabluary, always had a clear speech and it helped him learn English too! He's the best at English (also has an American accent!!) in his whole school (a 3rd grader better than 8 graders). He doesn't even want to watch anything if it's not in American English ☺ (because it sounds better and the characters don't scream like they do when dubbed). When he was younger and a TV changed the language, he would come up to me and say "Mommy they're speaking wrong" 😁 He has a cellphone but that's for no more than 1 hour on the weekends and only for The Royal Match game (which is a lot like Candy Crush). No social media whatsoever. When he argues that his friends say they play for 4 hours a day every day, I just tell him they're lying because their parents would never agree to that. So far he believes it 😉 Also for the first 3 years my son spoke only English and then reluctantly Polish 😊

Vanessa teacher this is really Informative topic for all of parents. I am watching your old videos but today I have watched your advanced English conversation video. Sometime parenting is really a hard job with all age group children. I have a 15 year old son and we have been in USA for last 4 months, as parents of 15 years old boy sometime its get difficult for us to convey something to him. Screentime has impact more on teenagers, because USA and Indian academic years are different, my son is attending online lectures, but after that we have set his schedule for screen by giving him tab only for 1hr. in the afternoon and 2 hrs. in evening on weekends but under observation only. No tech. at mealtime. Parents of teenagers require less control more conversation. Thank you.

Hello Vanessa, it's been a while, right? I really enjoyed watching this awesome video and I must recognize that this English listening lesson was quite challenging and mind-blowing for me to deal with because you and your husband spoke English so quickly and when listening English in a natural way it becomes more and more difficult to catch the most important vocabulary and grasp the main idea of what you two were talking about due to the distinct rhythm you and him applied throughout the apparent never-ending conversation and that rhythm is quite different from the usual, appealing rhythm Vanessa displays into her English lessons generally. And I'm not complaining about it at all, please don't get me wrong, it was just my own insight. Though I was able to pick out a great deal of key words about this subject. Cutting to the chase, fortunately I have no children and I have in mind not having them because bringing up kids is not really my thing to be honest, it means a huge, endless responsibility I'm not attempting to go for and I've got other goals in life that I've been planning for a long time. I'm not being a selfish person but that's my severe decision and It seems to be kinda weird or unacceptable, it's just me and on top of that, everyone is different and even further if we talk about our own thoughts, feelings, lifestyles, goals and relationships we have with other people. I love your enjoyable, delightful and rewarding English lessons because you have the best English teaching method I've ever experienced, Vanessa ❤😊.
