To Pick Up - to learn naturally without study To be a stretch - far from reality To mark off/ cross it off/ marked as completed... To give away /reveal a secret.... (I understand it is gonna be stretch but try to not give away my secret to them...) To clash with - to contradict/ to oppose/ to go against.... To start out with / intend to do something To be lame (sl.) - not cool/ not acceptable To go with... - to choose.. To use up - used completely... To jump Out at - noticeable/ easy to see Hail Mary (n.) - final desperate Chance/ You get a Hail Mary guess/ attempt a Toss-Up (n.) - unpredictable choose/ can't be predicted between two options Early On = Early To Go On - something dramatic occurred... by the seat of your pants - without a specific detailed plan / play by the ear(?) Hit or Miss - unpredictable result On the Back Burner - low priority/ postpone/ put off Clear Cut - confident/ free from doubt To Throw Off - confused by something To Go Over Your Head - too difficult to understand

I recently received 10000 dollar from my customer. 4. We punished since you easily gave away our crime to the police. 5. Your argument clash with the Newtonian laws. 6. I want to start out my speech with introducing myself. 7. I would not to be lame but I have to admit that I love picking my nose. 8. You should go with the first one, It’s more appropriate. 9. You used up plates, we have no plate to use for the guests. 10. True option is jumped out at me, it was not hard to find. 11. This may be the Hail Mary train. If we miss this train we must sleep at the station. 12. I cannot decide that which t-shirt is suitable for him. It’s a toss up. 13. I realized early on that we would lose the match. Our team was weak. 14. Due to blackout I don’t remember what was going on when they steal the money from the bank. 15. He survived not by clever plans but by the seat of his pants. 16. Our team’s performance is hit or miss. They won first match and then lose the second match. 17. Your holiday plans are on the back burner. We should focus on the work for now. 18. It is a clear cut that I choose the small couch because I have just a little place in my apartment. 19. Math problems are always throwing me off. I’ve never figured them out easily. 20. I have so many exams ahead. The courses that I studied all night are going over my head.
