If you have a bathtub in your apartment, put 3 inches of warm water in it with a 1/2 cup of epsom salt and let her soak in it. You have to wash it off afterward but it will ease her joint pain. It says on line to make sure that she does not drink it and to wash it off. If she drinks it, it will have a laxative effect and you don't want that.

The noise Fendy was making in the water sounded like her soft palette was getting caught down her throat. Dogs with flat faces can have problems with their nostrils being too small & their soft palette being too long. They can have problems breathing & pant alot. It is noticeable if they get too hot or when they run around. Might be an idea to get it checked just in case.

Get yourself some swimming shoes. Got mine on Amazon for a tenner. Saves you hurting your feet on rocks and stones and weaver fish if your at the beach. Fendy was amazing bless her ❤ Good for her joints as she is getting older x

I have a shih-tzu who has a similar body type as Fendi. They dont like water because they have no neck and dont have a long snout. So the water gets in their little noses easily and it can be scary for them. The jacket with the handle was a good idea. But it is definitely a life saving skill they need to become familiar with should they fall in one day.

I don't have a dog myself but I'm lucky enough to get to dogsit regularly for my friend's two. Mac, the black Lab loves swimming, you can't keep him out of water but Tara, the Staffie refuses to go in more than an inch or two. If I throw a stick for them, Mac grabs it and jumps in the Loch. He always swims just out of reach of Tara taunting her with the stick. It doesn't matter how cold it is, he's right in there and shivers all the way home whilst Tara looks smug and dry. Thank you for this upload. Fendi was very brave. She was probably thinking, "Try that again and you'll be camping on your own in future, matey!"
