Lee, I humbly put myself into the "trail shredder" category and my big problem when I go to the jump park is the instinct to suck up the jumps. If I try to pump into the jump my lizard brain kicks in and I go stiff and sideways. Have you seen this issue with "advanced" riders? I'm sure part of the issue is my local bike park is very BMX oriented and I generally feel out of place and self-conscious and usually only take a couple runs vs a dedicated session to work on it.

yes. this is very common, and i help people fix this for a living. the hot tip: 1) learn to pump elliptically, 2) take that movement to jumping. you can work with us via the online school at www.llbmtb.com, zoom or in person.
